They are willing to achieve their specialized learning objectives while contributing their technical expertise and knowledge under fixed-term agreements with FAO.

To be considered for the fellowship program:

  • Graduate or postgraduate degree (Master’s or PhD) or be enrolled in a PhD program at a “bona fide” educational institution at the time of application or a recent graduate. Please note that FAO only considers higher education obtained from an accredited/recognized institution in the World Higher Education Database (WHED), a list maintained by the International Association of Universities (IAU)/United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization ( UNESCO). .

  • Applicants must have at least two years of relevant work or research experience within one of the Organisation’s areas.

 

  • Working knowledge of at least one FAO language (English, Arabic, Chinese, Spanish, French or Russian). Knowledge of another FAO language will be considered an asset.

 

  • Be a citizen of FAO members.

 

  • Applicants must be able to adapt to an international multicultural environment and have good communication skills.
