The Fellows program is designed to attract fellows, typically doctoral students, researchers and professors, with an advanced level of relevant technical knowledge and experience in any area of the organization. They are willing to achieve their specialized learning objectives while contributing their technical expertise and knowledge under fixed-term agreements with FAO.

Eligibility Requirements for Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Fellowship 2024

To be considered for the fellowship program:

• Graduate or postgraduate degree (Master’s or PhD) or be enrolled in a PhD program at a “bona fide” educational institution at the time of application or a recent graduate. Please note that FAO only considers higher education obtained from an accredited/recognized institution in the World Higher Education Database (WHED), a list maintained by the International Association of Universities (IAU)/United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization ( UNESCO). .

• Applicants must have at least two years of relevant work or research experience within one of the Organisation’s areas.

• Working knowledge of at least one FAO language (English, Arabic, Chinese, Spanish, French or Russian). Knowledge of another FAO language will be considered an asset.

• Be a citizen of FAO members.

• Applicants must be able to adapt to an international multicultural environment and have good communication skills.

FAO does not pay any remuneration to fellows. Fellows must be fully sponsored by an external entity. The name of the sponsoring institution(s) must be mentioned in the application.
