Job Description:
Your job will be to handle all accounting and reporting tasks for the country you’re assigned to. You’ll work closely with an external auditor to deal with complex accounting issues and make sure reports are done correctly and on time. You’ll also collaborate with our Mondelēz International Digital Services team to ensure accurate and timely reporting and proper account reconciliations.
In this role, you’ll build a strong relationship with the regional and corporate controlling teams to follow Mondelēz International’s Accounting and External Reporting (AER) policies and adopt U.S. GAAP accounting standards promptly. You’ll also make sure we follow local accounting rules, submit financial statements, and handle indirect tax returns/payments (like VAT, excise tax, and sales tax) on time.
How you can help
You will:
- Take care of all the money and financial reports for the country you’re assigned to. This includes making sure the reports follow the rules of U.S. accounting and are done on time. You’ll also make sure all financial reports required by the government are accurate and on time. You’ll keep track of how money moves and ensure that all financial accounts are checked and approved for your country.
- Help make sure that everyone follows the rules and policies related to money and finances in the country. You’ll be the main person who talks to auditors from outside the company for your country.
- Deal with complicated money topics with help from the Business Unit or Region Controller. You’ll make sure that any new rules about accounting in the U.S. are followed in your country. You’ll also help the company understand how to apply these rules when they change how they do things or if they merge with another company.
- Work towards making things smoother and better in how we handle money and financial reports. You’ll find ways to make our systems and processes work together better, like using SAP. You’ll encourage everyone to keep finding ways to make things better.
- Put together a strong team to take care of money and financial reports (AER). You’ll hire and train people, and make sure they’re doing well. You’ll also work closely with other teams outside the country to make sure everything runs smoothly.
Qualifications and Requirements: What you need
A strong desire to shape your future and move forward in your career. You should have experience and knowledge in:
- TECHNICAL SKILLS: Knowing about accounting and external reporting (AER), including a good understanding of U.S. GAAP, IFRS, closing processes, and financial reporting systems. Also, understanding complex technical accounting topics like dealing with foreign exchange (FX), derivatives, employee compensation, and pension plans. Knowing about policies, controls, and following rules like SOX reporting. Having a general understanding of tax laws and both direct and indirect taxes.
- BUSINESS KNOWLEDGE: Understanding our business and finance beyond just accounting and external reporting. It’s a plus if you have experience working with a Big Four accounting firm.
- LEADERSHIP ABILITIES: Being able to work well with others and communicate effectively, especially in a large global, public company. Experience leading finance teams across the world and working with different departments to get accurate results on time.
- GROWTH AND DIGITAL SKILLS: Being able to spot good opportunities for growth and using technology to make things work better and faster.
- INTEGRITY: Making good decisions and behaving in a way that follows Mondelēz International’s values, policies, and external rules.

Job specific requirements:
- Deep knowledge of US GAAP / International Accounting Standards (for GAAP).
- Proficiency in MS office and SAP.

- Must belong to ICAN, ACCA, or similar professional organizations.
- Also, must be:
- A Chartered Accountant.
- Having an MBA is a plus.
- Familiar with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
- Experienced in leading or managing teams.
