Call for Applications: WTO Internship Program (World Trade Organization)
The WTO Internship Program offers students from WTO member and observer countries a unique opportunity to gain practical experience by working at the WTO. Participants will benefit from comprehensive training, mentorship, and a monthly stipend of CHF 1,800.
This internship program is designed for post-graduate students from WTO member and observer countries, providing them with hands-on experience at the WTO Secretariat in Geneva.
There are three distinct internship opportunities at the WTO:
- WTO Internship Programme: Open to post-graduate students from all WTO members and countries or customs territories engaged in accession negotiations.
- China LDC and Accessions Programme: Also known as the China WTO Accession Internship Programme.
- WTO Support Programme for Doctoral Studies.
The specific tasks and responsibilities of the internship depend on the division to which the intern is assigned.

- Administration (procurement, finance, human resources)
- Information, communication, and external relations
- Information management
Requirements:
To be eligible for the 2024 WTO Internship, applicants must:
- Be a national of a WTO member state or a country or customs territory engaged in accession negotiations.
- Have completed undergraduate studies in a relevant field and at least one year of postgraduate studies.
- Be between 21 and 30 years old during the internship.
Duration and Benefits:
- The internship lasts up to a maximum of six months.
- Interns will receive a daily allowance of CHF 60 (approximately USD 60), including weekends and official holidays within the internship period.
- Medical health insurance coverage is provided.
