Eligibility Criteria for Applicants
- Nationality: Non-Chinese citizens with a valid foreign passport.
- Health: Good health, meeting China’s medical standards for international students.
- Education and Age:
- Master’s applicants: Bachelor’s degree and under 35 years.
- Doctoral applicants: Master’s degree and under 40 years.
- Language Proficiency: Proficiency in either Chinese or English to fulfill academic and daily communication needs.
Selection of academic programs
TYUST offers various PhD and master’s programs in areas such as mechanical engineering, materials science and engineering, etc.
- PhD programmes: duration of 3 years with a maximum of 6 years.
- Master’s programmes: duration of 3 years with a maximum of 5 years.

Doctoral Programs Fee

- Tuition Fee: 25,000 CNY (Chinese Yuan) per year
- Accommodation Fee: 5,000 CNY per year
Master’s Programs Fee
- Tuition Fee: 20,000 CNY per year
- Accommodation Fee: 3,000 CNY per year

TYUST Scholarships in 2024
TYUST offers scholarships covering tuition and accommodation as well as financial awards to outstanding students. TYUST offers two types of scholarships for international students:
TYUST Scholarship for International Students: This scholarship fully covers tuition and accommodation fees for the duration of the program. For doctoral students, the duration of the scholarship is three years, with the possibility of extending it by one year.
TYUST Scholarship for Outstanding PhD and Masters Students:
- For doctoral students: 20,000 CNY per person per year.
- For Master’s students: CNY 15,000 per person per year.
This scholarship is awarded monthly and is available for three years with the possibility of a one-year extension for doctoral students.
Application Process for TYUST Scholarships
Interested applicants for a master’s or doctoral degree should email the required documents to 2003009@tyust.edu.cn, addressed to Mr. Zhendou Du, or submit an application online according to TYUST notification. The International Education School will review applications and contact qualified candidates.

The application package includes the TYUST application form, letters of recommendation, photocopy of passport, diplomas, transcripts, curriculum vitae, language proficiency certificates, letter of good faith, bank statement, health certificate and a notarized certificate of non-criminal sanction. Candidates must ensure that all documents are authentic and complete.
