RUMUODOMAYA IN PORT HARCOURT STOOD STILL TODAY AS YOUTHS / INDIGENES MARCH IN SOLIDARITY FOR A SLAIN YOUTH LEADER , NWANELE TASIE…

It was exactly a week today that darkness engulfed in or loomed large in the entire Rumuodomaya community, the Headquarters of Obio- Akpor LGA , Rivers State, over the death of one of its brightest and finest youth leaders – Nwanele Tasie.

Nwanele Tasie was hacked down to death by one daredevil, dreaded cultist and gang leader cum kidnap kingpin, Izunna , who on the instruction of his mother ( now at large) , committed this heinous crime. The sight of the corpse at the morgue confirms that Izunna, the assailant actually butchered him to death.

As a way to mourn their slain son, the entire community, especially the youth population came out en masse to march or process round the nooks and crannies of the town , to register their displeasure over the daylight murdering of one of their illustrious and industrious youth leaders and sons – Nwanele Tasie.

In doing this, economic and social activities were halted. However, shop owners and business centres were under lock and keys. Though, the procession was a peaceful one as irate youths carried placards with different inscriptions.

The message has been passed on to relevant agencies of government especially the security outfits to ensuring that justice is served in order to assuage their pains over the untimely death of their beloved one. As at the time of this reportage, life is gradually returning to the town.
