Role Summary

As a Customer Service Agent at Alaska Airlines, your primary responsibility is to engage guests with care and create remarkable experiences while assisting with their travel needs. In this individual contributor role, you will respond to guest inquiries and perform various tasks in the lobby check-in, gate, and baggage areas. This position is union represented.

Key Duties

  • Greet and assist guests with travel needs in a fast-paced environment, including answering questions, checking-in guests, and boarding flights.
  • Perform tasks using iPads, computers, and paperwork.
  • Handle boarding and gate duties, such as driving jetbridges for loading and unloading, making gate announcements, assigning seats, rebooking guests, and assisting guests with disabilities.
  • Assist and de-escalate upset guests to provide a positive travel experience.
  • Support guests whose bags are missing or damaged, including taking baggage claims, providing repair or replacement options, and helping locate missing bags.
  • Perform duties as directed by management to ensure complete guest satisfaction.

  • Must have an Enhanced ID/Driver’s license (REAL ID), or valid Passport, or be able to supply compliant document(s) to obtain a SIDA badge through the Port of Seattle at the time of hire.
  • Flight/hotel/travel accommodations and relocation assistance are not provided.

  • This position is located at the SeaTac Airport, and remote work is not applicable.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required:

  • A minimum of 6 months of customer service or community service experience.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written, listening).
  • Ability to approach guests with a smile and greeting as they enter.
  • Typing speed of at least 25 WPM.
  • Ability to consistently lift and push/pull 50 lbs.
  • Physical capabilities including bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, and grasping.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, within a 24-hour period.
  • Availability for paid training for eight consecutive days.
  • Ability to learn and use an iPad and computerized check-in system.</li >
  • Ability to adapt to set procedures and anticipate needs in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work with large and diverse groups of people.
  • Must have an Enhanced ID/Driver’s license (REAL ID), or valid Passport, or be able to supply compliant document(s) to obtain a SIDA badge through the Port of Seattle at the time of hire.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.

Airport SIDA Badge Requirements
