Partnering the Managing Director, this position is the number one finance person in an established project driven SME, with one member of staff to assist with all of the end to end accounting duties for the business. As such, the role spans both the detail of transactional bookkeeping as well as strategic business partnering with the successful individual being willing and able to do both. Your remit will include:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and commentary
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Financial planning and analysis including annual budgets and reforecasts
  • Annual audit and assist with preparation of statutory accounts for filing
  • Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger including invoice entry, subcontractor billing process via applications and credit control
  • Project accounting including evaluating profitability and WIP reviews.
  • Fixed asset accounting
  • Monthly VAT Returns
  • Processing monthly payroll and payroll year end
  • Cash management and treasury including daily bank reconciliations, allocation of receipts and payments
  • Weekly cashflow forecasting
  • Company secretarial duties

The role would suit a hands on qualified accountant, although QBE may be considered, with considerable accounting experience in a project driven business. You should be comfortable doing daily / weekly accounting tasks and will have had exposure to payroll, but also be able to support the senior management team with commercial information and analysis. The vacancy is replacing a long standing employee and would suit an individual with an equally stable background.
