Current status of the INECPRES portal
INECPRES is INEC’s Portal for the Engagement of Election Staff. It is the only official channel for SPO, PO, APO, RAC Manager and RATECH applications.

2027 election dates that drive the recruitment
Presidential and National Assembly polls: 16 January 2027. Governorship and State Assembly polls: 6 February 2027. INEC has already published candidate lists and is building logistics for more than 176,000 polling units. Ad-hoc recruitment usually opens a few months before those dates, not a full year out — unless INEC says otherwise.
Positions in INEC ad-hoc staff recruitment 2027
Five field roles show up in every recent INECPRES cycle. Duties stay the same even when the election changes.
Supervisory Presiding Officer (SPO)
The SPO runs a Registration Area. You move between polling units, fix problems, and report up to collation. This is not an NYSC slot.
Presiding Officer (PO)
You own one polling unit. Accreditation on BVAS, ballot control, count, EC8A, IReV upload. Most serving corps members land here.
Assistant Presiding Officer (APO I, II, III)
Queue control, ballot issuance, result-sheet support. Same eligibility pool as POs in most notices.
RAC Manager
You run the Registration Area Centre or Super RAC. Materials leave from you before polls and return to you after.
RATECH
BVAS and network first aid at RA level. ICT staff and IT students compete for this seat.

Eligibility criteria for INEC ad-hoc staff (current INECPRES pattern)
SPO eligibility
- Federal public/civil service and MDA staff on GL 10–14. Priority often goes to qualified NYSC, NOA, NIMC and NPC staff.
- INEC RAOs and other INEC staff on GL 10–14 who are not already assigned other election duties.
PO and APO I, II, III eligibility
- Serving NYSC corps members.
- Former corps members whose service ended not earlier than three years before the election (recent notices cited 2024, 2025, 2026).
- Students in federal and state tertiary institutions — penultimate year, and year 2 or year 3 in some cycles.
- Permanent federal and state MDA staff with OND or NCE on GL 07–14 (some notices cap part of this pool at GL 07–10).
RAC Manager eligibility
- Head of the school or institution hosting the RAC or Super RAC.
- Or a staff member of that host institution on GL 07 and above.
RATECH eligibility
- Suitable INEC ICT staff at state or HQ not on other duties.
- IT students from federal and state tertiary institutions.
- Former corps members who served in the Commission, where available.
Rules that knock people out
- You must not be a member of any political party.
- You must not have campaigned for, or publicly backed, any candidate or party.
- Application is free. Anyone asking for “portal activation fee” is running a scam.

How to apply on the official INECPRES portal
Do this only on pres.inecnigeria.org. Type the address yourself. Do not tap shortened links from Telegram.
- Open https://pres.inecnigeria.org.
- Read the eligibility page for the position you want.
- New applicants: start registration. Returning applicants (profiles from 2019 or later cycles): log in and update.
- Fill personal data, NIN, contact, education, employment and preferred state/LGA.
- Upload a clear passport photo and the documents the form requests (ID, NYSC call-up or discharge, appointment letter, student ID).
- Submit. Screenshot the reference number. Keep the email and phone you used active.
Android users: use the official INEC PRES listing on Google Play (developer tied to the Commission’s app programme), not a random .apk from a blog. Side-loaded APKs are a common harvest tool.
If the homepage still says “Osun State Governorship Election,” you are not looking at a nationwide 2027 intake. Wait for INEC to retarget the same portal.
Documents to keep ready
- NIN slip that matches your name and date of birth
- Valid phone and personal email you can open today
- Recent passport photograph on a plain background
- NYSC call-up or discharge certificate (corps and ex-corps)
- Student ID and evidence of current level (students)
- Appointment / confirmation letter and GL evidence (MDA and INEC staff)
- Means of ID: NIN, PVC, driver’s licence or international passport
How much INEC ad-hoc staff get paid
INEC does not publish a fixed national salary scale for ad-hoc duty. Job sites quote wide ranges. Treat every naira figure below as an estimate from past off-cycle and general-election cycles, not an offer letter.

Training stipend, feeding and transport are sometimes paid separately. Payment after duty has been slow in some previous cycles. Do not budget rent on an unpublished figure.

Who should prepare now even if the 2027 portal is not open
Serving corps members Batch C 2026 and early 2027 batches. Penultimate-year students who can operate a BVAS screen. MDA staff on GL 07–14 with OND/NCE. School heads whose premises already host RACs. INEC ICT officers not tied to another duty.
Create or clean your old INECPRES profile. Align your NIN name with your certificate name. That one mismatch kills more applications than a late click.
FAQ
Is the INECPRES portal open for the 2027 general election?
Not on official channels as of 17 September 2026. The live portal text still points to the 2026 Osun exercise. A newspaper-style notice is not the same as an INEC statutory announcement. Check pres.inecnigeria.org and @inecnigeria before you apply.
What is the official INEC ad-hoc application website?
https://pres.inecnigeria.org, linked from https://www.inecnigeria.org. Do not use shortened links or APK files sent in group chats.
Can NYSC members apply as SPO?
No. Serving corps members sit in the PO/APO pool. SPO is built for GL 10–14 public/civil servants and designated INEC staff.
Do I pay to apply for INEC ad-hoc staff recruitment 2027?
No. The process is free. A fee request is proof the site is fake.
When does INEC usually open nationwide ad-hoc recruitment?
For off-cycle polls, windows have been a few weeks long. For a general election, expect a later, larger window once logistics and the voter register are locked — historically closer to the poll than to September of the previous year. INEC has not published a confirmed 2027 ad-hoc calendar.
