9mobile is a Nigerian private limited liability company. EMTS acquired a Unified Access Service License from the Nigerian Communications Commission in 2007. The License enables EMTS provide Fixed Telephony (wired or wireless), Digital Mobile Services, International Gateway Services and National/Regional Long Distance Services in addition to spectrum assignments in the 900 and 1800 MHz bands.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

 

 

Job Title: Manager, Data Centre M & E

Location: Lagos

Job Summary  

  • Manage all network operations and maintenance activities of the data centre, including capacity monitoring and supervision of all network element installations.

Principal Functions  

  • Ensure AC DC power and cooling availability target 99.8% in Data Centres /MGW sites
  • Ensure DC power and cooling availability target 100% in Data Centres /MGW sites
  • Ensure strict compliance of change request execution, oversee all routine and corrective maintenance for power and cooling systems, spare parts management and inventory, space management, equipment records and performance data.
  • Ensure all operation / implementation activities in the Data Centres are executed in a professional manner and incompliance with the approved changes.
  • Monitor and control network element capacity utilisation and always ensure that utilisation level does not exceed industry standard.
  • Prepare reports on capacity constraints to the relevant units for possible equipment upgrade.
  • Support the network quality assurance team in regular monitoring, tracking and reporting of discrepancies in network elements and reporting same to the relevant stake holders.
  • Keep an updated list and layout of all nodes installed in the data centre indicating clearly their details /specifications, near and far end connectivity
  • Ensure all installed equipment in the data centre is maintained in accordance with the outlined maintenance schedules and procedures and keep comprehensive maintenance history of all equipment.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with switch implementation vendors as well as coordinate maintenance activities between the vendors and internal stakeholders in terms of planning, scheduling and database management.
  • Ensure compliance with the organization’s quality policy on all core network O& M and identify areas where the quality policy needs improvement for escalation to the quality assurance unit for appropriate action.
  • Carry out other tasks as directed by the Head, Field Operation

Educational Requirements

  • First degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
  • Six (6) to Eight (8) years work experience with at least three (3) in a supervisory role.

Job Title: Engineer, Data Centre M & E

Location: Abuja,NG

Job Summary   

  • Monitor the data centre power and cooling infrastructure, space/power allocation and equipment (DGs, UPS, HVAC, rectifiers and power controls).

Principal Functions    

  • Supervise and maintain power and cooling equipment at Data Centre, IT rooms and all other equipment: (AC / DC system, Fire suppression system, HVAC and other passive infrastructure)
  • Implement all preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Monitor all power and cooling consumption and capacity utilization
  • Supervise new installations in the data centre according to power budget and design specification.
  • Ensure data centre power and floor spaceis optimised and manage BMS at the data centre
  • Update technical documentation, drawings and operational logs pertaining to equipment and maintenance activities.
  • Monitor diesel levels / consumption and ensure refills as and when necessary.
  • Update utility power utilization and records of all M and E equipment in the data centre.
  • Liaise with maintenance contractors and vendors, and prepare monthly reports on their activities for manager, M & E Data Centre’s attention.
  • Conduct and supervise and record, hourly and daily routine / physical inspection of all network element / nodes to ascertain their functionality at the DC / MGW
  • Identify SPOF and communicate to your line manager for immediate attention and resolution
  • Carry out routine audit and facilitate risk assessment of DC, MGW and BSC sites.
  • Perform other duties a directed by Manager, M & E Data Centre

Educational Requirements

  • First degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years post NYSCwork experience
