Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) is currently looking for a KC-46 Remote Vision Associate Systems Engineer join the KC-46 Remote Vision System (RVS) team in Everett, WA.

The KC-46 Remote Vision System (RVS) Team is responsible for the boom and panoramic cameras that feed the remote vision displays that are the Aerial Refueling Operator (ARO) primary input interfaces to configure and control the air refueling systems. The team works closely with equipment suppliers, flight test, production, and the military customer.

We are seeking an early career engineer with a desire to gain experience in FAA and military equipment qualification and certification as well as apply project management skills. A successful candidate must be willing to take ownership of the equipment assigned to them and drive the supplier towards successful certification of the equipment as well as the overall system and assist in the resolution of complex technical and compliance issues.

This position is best suited to individuals who are self-starters, highly motivated, work well in fast paced multi-discipline team environments, and are able to work with quick decisions for the best interest of the business. This person has experience and some expertise in equipment management, qualification testing, physical and functional integration and installation design, production support, resolving supplier technical issues, and FAA certification.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for system and subsystem performance and integration from the LRU bench level to on aircraft installed performance
  • Support airplane troubleshooting in support of Flight Test and Delivery.
  • Support and develop technical solutions for in-service aircraft.
  • Support and develop technical solutions to increase production quality.
  • Support equipment and system through FAA and/or Military Type Certification
  • Establish relationships with supplier engineering and technical staff
  • Establish relationships with Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) Unit Members (UMs) and staff
  • Work onsite at supplier or test facility when needed
  • Able to work across teams to deliver production and fleet facing results.
  • Assist IPT Manager by driving LRU supplier execution to plans
  • Possess excellent technical communication orally and in-writing

KC-46 REMOTE VISION ASSOCIATE SYSTEMS ENGINEER AT BOEING Everett, Washington

This position allows telecommuting.  The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science (or greater) from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry or other technical degree
  • 2+ years of experience in Systems, Hardware or Software development

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience working within a fast-paced team environment, which required strong communication skills to frequently interact with Leadership or internal and external customer representatives
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and external customers

Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
