Responsibilities

  • MainOne seeks to admit smart, vibrant, and young OND students in their internship year into our Technicians Scheme Program.
  • Our ideal candidate should be resourceful, versatile, analytical, assertive, audacious and a self-starter with a problem-solving mindset.
  • He or she must be interested in building a career in the Telecommunications sector, act with integrity at all times and buy into MainOne’s vision of being West Africa’s communications solutions provider of choice.

Program Structure

  • The MainOne Technicians Scheme Program is a 1-year intensive experience designed to provide a robust foundation for OND students who desire to build careers in the Telecommunications and Technology sector.
  • The Program includes practical training to equip participants with the tools and knowledge required to succeed and become professionals.

Qualifications, Skills & Competencies
Eligibility Requirements:

  • Applicants must have completed their Ordinary National Diploma (OND) with a Distinction or Upper Credit in Electrical / Electronic Engineering
  • Drive and passion for excellence
  • Candidates are required to live around the Ajah axis to ensure proximity to their work location
  • Candidates must possess exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with basic computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Willingness to learn new skills and display a high level of integrity

  • Creative-thinking ability
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Leadership demonstrated through extra-curricular activities

Selection Criteria
Aptitude Test:

  • As part of our selection criteria, you will be expected to write an aptitude test and an essay.

Panel Interviews

  • Once you are successful at the aptitude test, you will be invited for interviews with a group of interviewers.

Offer

  • Upon successful completion of the recruitment process, an offer to join the Technicians Scheme Program for a period of 1 year will be extended to candidate.

Job Title: Facility Engineer

Responsibilities
The Facility Engineer will be responsible for the following functions:

  • Good in Solution Designs and Execution
  • Perform troubleshooting & Resolving Electrical / Electronics faults and other facilities items
  • Provisioning of power and installation of AC & DC equipment.
  • Ability to respond to Emergency/Call out to attend to power related issues on 3rd party Pops.
  • Carry out regular assessment of POP facilities to determine items that are due for replacement or repair and initiate appropriate action.
  • Follow up with 3rd Party Engineers (Transmission/OSP/IP) to resolve issues on sites.
  • To provide a cover up for shift Engineers when need be.
  • Prepare accurate daily, weekly and Monthly reports.
  • Ensuring that safety and health standards at work are adhered to.
  • Acts as the primary contact for all third party (facilities) related issues (emergencies and repairs).
  • Maintenance of all MainOne and third party POP facilities as well as service coordination and service providers’ management.

Qualifications, Skills & Competencies

  • B.Sc / HND in any relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of +4 years in telecom facility operations & maintenance experience.
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office tools.
  • Good interpersonal relationship.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in working with AC and DC power systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Good in Documentation and Processes
  • Facilities management.
  • Project management.
  • Excellent people skills.
  • Must be customer service oriented.
  • Contract/vendor management skills
  • Good in Solution Designs

How to write a cover letter that gets you the job

Here’s how to make a great cover letter for a job application:

Underneath your name in your cover letter header, list the following contact details:

  • First and last name
  • Email address (something professional, usually including your name)
  • Phone number
  • Mailing address (optional)
  • Linkedin profile link (optional)
  • Portfolio or website (optional)

After your header, include the date and following company contact information:

  • First and last name of the person you’re writing to, or the relevant department

2. Address the hiring manager (ideally by their name)
