NDDC Empowerment Program for Niger Deltans | Now Open for Applications
The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has initiated a program aimed at empowering the youth residing in the Niger Delta region.
Dubbed HOPE (Holistic Opportunity Projects of Engagement), the initiative’s goal is to generate 1,000 employment opportunities in each state of the region through strategic collaborations and skill enhancement.
During the launch of project HOPE, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, the MD/CEO of NDDC, emphasized its significance, stating, “Today marks a new beginning for the NDDC as we inaugurate project HOPE to positively impact the lives of young people in the Niger Delta. This initiative is comprehensive and sustainable.”
Ogbuku urged all youth in the Niger Delta to participate in the program by registering on the database, highlighting its alignment with current realities.
He further encouraged individuals from the region, including entrepreneurs, men, and women, to register and seize the opportunities presented by the initiative.
NDDC Introduces HOPE Initiative for Niger Delta Youth Empowerment
The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has initiated a transformative program named the “Holistic Opportunity Empowerment Project of Engagement (HOPE).” With a vision to impact the lives of 9,000 youths across nine states within the region, the HOPE project is poised to serve as a catalyst for empowerment and economic advancement. The program will target nine key industries, including agriculture, construction, oil and gas, hospitality, tourism, manufacturing, ICT, and entrepreneurship.

HOPE adopts a multifaceted strategy towards youth empowerment, integrating skills development, training, and job creation. Collaborating with entities such as the Federal Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs (MNDA), the International Labour Organisation (ILO), and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), NDDC aims to ensure the project’s broad reach and impact.

Eligibility

To qualify, applicants must be Nigerian citizens aged 18 and above, possess a secondary school certificate or equivalent, and reside in the Niger Delta region.
