NDDC Skill Acquisition 2023/2024
The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is a federal government agency established in 2000 by former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo. The commission’s primary objective is to develop the Niger-Delta region through a skill acquisition and entrepreneurship program.
The NDDC focuses on enhancing Micro, Small, and Medium Scale Enterprises (MSMEs) in various fields. Guided by the motto “Determined to Make a Difference,” the NDDC strives to facilitate sustainable development and rapid growth in the Niger Delta region. The goal is to transform the region into a socially stable, economically prosperous, ecologically regenerative, and politically peaceful area.
The NDDC has a Liaison office in Abuja and is led by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Samuel Ogbuku, who also serves as the Acting Managing Director.

Functions of NDDC

- Identifying factors hindering development and assisting member states in formulating and implementing sound resource management policies
- Monitoring and reporting on funded projects in the region and ensuring proper utilization of funds
- Addressing ecological and environmental issues resulting from oil and gas exploration in the Niger Delta region and advising on prevention and control of oil spillages, gas flaring, and environmental pollution
- Liaising with oil, mineral, and gas companies regarding pollution prevention and control
- Performing other functions necessary for the sustainable development of the Niger Delta region and its people
