Job Overview

  • HIV care and support Officers will provide technical assistance in the implementation of Care and Support services in supported health facilities and communities under the supervision of the Care and Support Specialist.

Responsibilities

  • The Care and Treatment Officer will provide Technical Assistance (hands-on mentorship) to adherence counselors, Nurses & other Health Care Workers in all facilities in their designated clusters on care and support services.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • MBBS / B.Sc Nursing / RN with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience in implementing HIV Prevention, Care and Support programs.
  • Experience in supporting HIV Testing and Counseling / PMTCT / TB programs in health facilities, mobile units, and community outreaches
  • Good knowledge of Government of Nigeria HIV Care and Treatment guidelines and experience working with Ministry of Health and other relevant entitles

Abilities:

Responsibilities

Job Overview

  • CCCRN is seeking a Laboratory Specialist to support the ACE project located in Niger and Kwara state. CCCRN provides technical and programmatic support services to the states.
  • The incumbent will report to the Advisor Laboratory. S/he will coordinate access to laboratory tests and ensure existing laboratory platforms are maximized for HIV service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the performance of the laboratory activities of the ACE project at the state level
  • Provide technical guidance to State Laboratory Officers in the states of implementation. This will ensure that the facility and community implementers provide quality laboratory services (diagnostic and patient monitoring) in the states
  • Provide technical support to strengthen the operationalization of the laboratory Strategic framework as defined by the National HIV Programme in collaboration with other relevant stakeholders
  • Develops and implements policies, procedures, checklists, manuals, and performance standards designed to ensure efficient laboratory operations
  • Coordinates and integrates laboratory activities with those of other subdivisions and with other state agencies
  • Liaise with the State Laboratory focal person to understand and ensure the smooth running of laboratory activities in the states.
  • Promoting interaction and collaboration with laboratory stakeholders state levels by serving on state Laboratory Technical Working Groups (TWG)

  • Provide leadership in the development of HSS& QI framework
  • Coordinate assessments, site strengthening, follow-up, and supervision, including developing supportive supervision guidelines
  • Develop and test approaches for quality and performance improvement according to the local context as needed

  • Initiate and lead the deployment of wholistic approaches to strengthening public finance management processes
  • Establish and strengthen state-based monitoring and accountability mechanisms
  • Coordinate efforts towards the development of an enabling environment to foster increased private investment and contributions

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Postgraduate Degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, Laboratory Science
  • Possession of an MPH is desirable
  • At least 10 years of demonstrated experience in managing and/or implementing integrated HIV/AIDS/TB prevention, care, and treatment with HSS programming on PEPFAR funded programs
  • Knowledgeable about facility- or community-based HIV/AIDS models; health governance; HRH; supply chain strengthening; QI; AMEL;health care financing; public-private partnerships capacity strengthening of local organizations
  • Familiarity with the Nigeria public sector health system and NGOs and CBOs is highly desirable

Abilities:

  • Ability to interact effectively and collaboratively with a broad range of senior and mid-level public and private sector counterparts, donors, and other key stakeholders
  • Ability to supervise technical staff in the implementation of integrated health programming
  • Good interpersonal relationships
  • Fluency In English and local language

Skills:

  • Excellent demonstrable writing and diplomacy skills with experience presenting technical issues to stakeholders,
  • Proficient use of Microsoft office for documenting and reporting
  • Proficient use of data management and analytic tools

Job Overview

  • The Lab Advisor will provide technical support in the execution and monitoring of laboratory activities in health facilities.
  •  He / she will provide support to laboratory specialists/ officersto ensure program activities are planned and executed with quality, accountability, fidelity, and measurable impact.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance and make recommendations to ACE programs to improve quality, access, and utilization of HIV diagnostic services with a focus on quality assurance and proficiency testing, Viral load and Early Infant Diagnosis cascade, sample referral and result return systems, recency testing implementation, GeneXpert utilization for HIV/TB, laboratory-clinical interface, laboratory operations, laboratory quality management systems and accreditation.
  • Track and triage laboratory program activities, laboratory operations, performance, action items, and follow-up; this includes routing information and tasks appropriately following the established chain of communication.
  • Support development, review, timely submission, and tracking of laboratory work plans, budgets, and expenditure reports.
  • Assess the technical quality and fidelity of implementation of laboratory activities in field programs by conducting site visits and reviewing programmatic data.
  • Build capacity of laboratory specialist to monitor program performance, analyze and interpret program data routinely including review of facility-level data to identify gaps, develop data-driven solutions and SOPs to ensure CCCRN  meets PEPFAR program targets.
  • Create a platform for collaboration and sharing of best practices across programs and with other technical areas where relevant.
  • Maintain knowledge of evolving public health laboratory technical standards, guidelines, and program requirements including national and international guidelines/recommendations for HIV care, treatment, and diagnosis.
  • Support the development, review, and delivery of presentations, tools, reports, protocols, abstracts, manuscripts, and other documents deemed essential.
  • Represent CCCRN  at meetings, conferences, and workshops as directed and approved.
  • Participate in the planning and coordination of program calls, annual laboratory-clinical meetings, or any other approved technical meetings.
  • Work towards developing technical expertise and ownership of a selection of programmatic areas within the laboratory services portfolio.
  • Perform tasks as assigned to support the execution of ACE PEPFAR laboratory program strategies and initiatives.
