Gov Wike announces take-over of SPDC’s immovable properties in OML 11. These, according to the Governor is as a result of Shell’s lost of ownership of the facilities because of several court judgments.

The Governor says it has initiated moves to bid for ownership and acquisition of Shell’s over 40% equity share in the Ogoni oil fields.

He said the Rivers State Government is now in negotiation with a new E&P company to commence oil production in Ogoniland.

Meanwhile many Ogoni sons and daughters have expressed their dissatisfaction over the new development.
