There seems to be no headway soon in the crisis rocking the association, as some concerned members are set to lock horns with Chief Chinedu Okonkwo, owner of ‘Avina oil’ and Chief Obasi Lawson, owner of Sobaz.
The members who are calling on the state government and security agencies to weld in to avert break down of law and order, stated that in the constitution of IPMAN, there is no provision for appointment in the office of the zonal chairman. It is on record that the office of the zonal chairman expires after three years and election holds and be conducted upon by the national President.
But to the surprise of members, Chief Obasi Lawson of Sobaz oil, who claims to be a board of trustees member, appointed a zonal chairman for the association.
The members are pleading with the state government and security agencies to prevail on Chief Obasi Lawson who also parades himself a Lord’ to toe the line of peace and allow for a peaceful election to hold as it is enshrined in IPMAN constitution
