Job Description

• RMB Nigeria is looking to appoint a senior transactor within DFS. The individual must be an entrepreneurial self-starter who has the energy and passion to grow RMB’s IBD business in Nigeria.
• The successful candidate will also be required to provide corporate term lending and DCM solutions to clients based in West Africa (primarily Nigeria and Ghana). Key focus clients include Sovereigns, State Owned Enterprises, Supranational, Financial Institutions, Multinational, and large local indigenous corporates.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Lead the origination, structuring, and implementation process around bespoke term lending solutions. The candidate will be able to leverage the coverage and existing DFS staff, credit teams, IBD in-country head within RMBN, as well as the product skills based within DFS in South Africa and London
• Have an understanding of credit rating advisory and listing requirements that may be necessary to facilitate the issuance of bonds within Nigeria and Ghana
• Focus on developing strategic relationships with a target list of strategic names that have been identified as key to the RMBN and DFS strategy (this list of clients will be provided in the interview process), together with designated Coverage personnel
• Interact successfully with the in-country and South African credit team, in-country Global Markets and Treasury & Trade Solutions teams, as well as the rest of the IBD Broader African team
• Close transactions by obtaining the relevant internal approvals for the transaction and leading or actively participating in the successful conclusion of negotiations
• Add value to transactions for the benefit of RMB and/or the client through knowledge of credit risk
• Enhance the bankability of transactions by identifying and mitigating key risk issues
• Implement transactions by preparing or managing the preparation of complex multiple jurisdiction documents and compliance with all required procedures, laws, and regulations
• Monitoring & management of deals post-closure

Other:

• Mentoring and coaching of junior Transactors
• Cross-selling of bank products to its clients
• Internal stakeholder relationship management

Requirements
Experience & Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of deal-making experience (corporate & structured finance)
• Prior relevant deal experience.  Deal experience in Nigeria will be advantageous
• Relevant bachelor’s degree in relevant subject; ACCA, CFA, or MBA advantageous

Technical Prerequisites:

• Understanding and knowledge of all financial instruments

• A working knowledge of the law of contracts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

• This role reports directly to the Chief Audit Executive of RMB Nigeria. The IT Auditor will provide assurance on the adequacy and effectiveness of risk management and control over IT Systems and Platforms, General IT Controls, CAATs and Projects. Furthermore, to take accountability for the management and development of the IT audit skills and to provide consulting services to the clients.
• IT audits cover the following subjects matters: IT and cybersecurity reviews, IT service providers reviews, Business Continuity Management and Disaster Recovery, Project Management, Pre and Post implementation reviews for IT projects, Change Management, Logical Access Management, IT Governance, Data Backup, Cloud Computing, IT Operations, and reviews for Industry/Regulatory compliance (SWIFT/PCI-DSS).

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Delivering Assurance and Consulting Services.
• To provide assurance on the adequacy and effectiveness of risk management and controls over IT systems and platforms, general IT controls, data analysis, and projects.
• Ability to work collaboratively and identify opportunities, and drive integrated audit approaches between process audit and IT audit according to the timeliness agreed with the audit committee, etc.
• Staying abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements impacting IT audit practices.
• Evaluate and conduct reviews on a range of Hardware, Operating Systems, Databases, Network Infrastructure, and applications.
• Perform control reviews on systems development, operations, programming, control, and security procedures and standards.
• Review system backup, disaster recovery and maintenance procedures.
• Ensuring audits are completed in accordance with the Group Internal Audit methodology and audit standards as prescribed by the Institute of Internal Auditors.
• Perform individual audits in respect of the risks and controls on the process being audited, and advise on technical, methodology, and statutory issues.
• Discussion of the draft report with the auditee, finalization of management comments, action plans, and target dates for implementation.
• Facilitating dispute resolution with line management, if required.
• Work closely with the RMB Nigeria Group Internal Audit team and the Group and Brader Africa IT auditors.
• Expressing an audit opinion on the acceptability of the residual risk in the process under review.
• Drive the relationships with the customer base and ensure that customers are provided with world-class perspectives and solutions.
• Conduct process audit as assigned by the Chief Audit Executive from time to time.
• Carry out other duties and investigations as directed by the Chief Audit Executive.

Experience & Qualifications

• 4 years’ experience in IT audit, process audit, risk management, or technology assurance.
• Extensive experience and knowledge on General Controls Review, Application Controls Review, CAATS, and Project Auditing are a prerequisite.
• Strong understanding of IT governance frameworks, compliance standards, regulatory frameworks, and cybersecurity principles.
• Bachelor’s degree in information systems or a related field
• Professional certifications: ACCA, CISA, CRISC, CISSP, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor (advantageous)
• Proficiency in audit analytics tools, Power BI, and the Microsoft Office suite.
