Pick the wrong category and you waste the application. Use this table.

Do not apply as Non-Trades if you already hold ND, NCE or a Trade Test. Use the Trades route.

- Age 18–27 years by 1 March 2027
- At least lower credit from an accredited institution (for ND/NCE applicants)

How to Apply on the NAF Recruitment Portal
Use only https://nafrecruitment.airforce.mil.ng. Do not use a WhatsApp “form”, a cybercafe agent link, or a Facebook page that asks for money.
- Open the official portal from 3 September 2026.
- Read the BMTC 47/2026 instruction page before you create an account.
- Create an account with an email and phone number you check every day.
- Choose Tradesmen/Women or Non-Tradesmen/Women.
- Fill personal details exactly as they appear on your certificates and NIN.
- Enter your O’Level results sitting by sitting. Maths and English must be credits.
- Upload a clear recent passport photograph and the documents the form requests.
- Review every field. Submit once. Multiple applications get you disqualified.
- Print the forms the portal generates. You cannot print them if the application did not complete.
The NAF notice is clear: applicants who do not finish the form successfully will not be able to generate the required printouts.

Forms You Must Print After You Submit
After a successful application, print these three documents from the portal:
- Acknowledgement Form
- Parent/Guardians Consent Form
- Local Government Area Attestation Form
Who can sign the LGA Attestation Form
One of the following must sign it:
- A military officer from the same state as the applicant, not below Wing Commander in the NAF, or the equivalent rank in the Nigerian Army or Nigerian Navy
- A police officer of the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police and above
- A substantive Local Government Chairman or Secretary
- A Magistrate from the applicant’s state of origin
Attach:
- Your passport photograph
- A photocopy of the signer’s Driver’s Licence, National ID Card or International Passport
Start this signature hunt the day you submit. Do not wait for the aptitude-test shortlist. Candidates who arrive at later stages with an unsigned or wrongly signed form are sent home.
Documents to Prepare Before 14 October 2026
Have originals and photocopies ready. You will need them at the aptitude test and the selection interview.
- WAEC, NECO, GCE, NABTEB or NBAIS certificate or statement of result
- Valid result checker / scratch card for the sitting(s) you used (candidates forget this often)
- Primary School Certificate and Secondary School Testimonial (Non-Trades)
- ND, NCE or Trade Test certificate (Trades)
- Valid driving licence (drivers only)
- Sport certificates and medals (sports applicants)
- Birth certificate or age declaration
- Certificate of state / LGA of origin
- NIN slip
- Recent passport photographs (white background)
- The three printed NAF forms, fully signed
Names, dates of birth and state of origin must match across NIN, certificates and the online form.
What Happens After You Apply
BMTC 47/2026 follows the same pipeline as the last intake (BMTC 46/2025).
- Online application — 3 September to 14 October 2026.
- Shortlist for the Zonal General Aptitude Test — published on the portal. Date to be announced there.
- Zonal General Aptitude Test — last cycle used 15 NAF bases nationwide and drew more than 20,000 candidates.
- Selection Interview — only candidates who pass the aptitude test are invited. Last cycle held at NAF Base Kaduna in batches.
- Medical, physical and document screening at the interview stage.
- Final list on the portal, then reporting instructions for Basic Military Training.
Basic training for BMTC recruits usually lasts about six months at the Nigerian Air Force Military Training Centre in Kaduna before posting to a NAF base.
Watch the portal and official NAF channels only. SMS or email from unknown numbers that ask you to “pay for shortlist” is fraud.

Common Mistakes That Kill NAF Applications
- Applying as Non-Trades when you hold ND/NCE, or as Trades with only SSCE
- Age calculated on today’s date instead of 1 March 2027
- English or Mathematics missing from the five credits
- Three sittings instead of a maximum of two
- Height below 1.66m (men) or 1.63m (women)
- Paying a “recruiter” or using a fake portal
- Submitting two applications
- Leaving the Parent Consent or LGA Attestation unsigned
- Name mismatch between NIN, WAEC and the form
- Waiting until 14 October and meeting a jammed portal
Apply in the first two weeks. Print the forms the same day. Get the attestation signed while the window is still open.
Is NAF Recruitment Free?
Yes. The Nigerian Air Force recruitment 2026 exercise is free at every stage: form, aptitude test, interview and training slot.
Anyone who asks for money to “upload your form”, “guarantee shortlist” or “buy a slot” is a fraudster. Report them. Call the official lines above or email careers@airforce.mil.ng.
Official NAF sites:
- Recruitment portal: https://nafrecruitment.airforce.mil.ng
- Main site: https://www.airforce.mil.ng
- Verified social handles listed on the recruitment poster: Nigerian Air Force HQ / @nigerianairforce / @NigAirForce
Pay After Training (What Recruits Should Expect)
NAF does not publish a public payslip on the recruitment poster. Entry rank after BMTC is Aircraftman / Aircraftwoman.
Public estimates for junior airmen before allowances often sit in the mid tens of thousands of naira per month, plus feeding, accommodation on base, medical care and other service allowances. In August 2026 the Federal Government announced an armed-forces pay adjustment effective 1 September 2026, with the largest percentage increase directed at junior ranks. Treat blog salary tables as estimates until you see your official enlistment package.
The job is service first. Pay is one part of the package, not the whole decision.

Quick Decision Guide
- SSCE only, age 18–22 by 1 March 2027 → Non-Tradesmen/Women
- ND, NCE or Trade Test, age 18–27 by 1 March 2027 → Tradesmen/Women
- Degree or HND seeking officer rank → wait for DSSC; this BMTC form is not that route
- Under 18 on 1 March 2027, or over the cap for your category → do not apply this cycle
