Mission
They partner with local communities and provide resources for projects defined by local leaders to improve the lives and well-being of community members.
Goal
They invest in and support community development projects that require modest capital. They fund community-owned projects whose social impact and return on investment can be measured and whose success can be sustainable. In the spirit of innovation, they aim for a diversified “portfolio” of projects and geographies to convey creative solutions.
They strive to discover and apply best practices in social investing on a small, personal level. Their process invites an ongoing direct connection with the sponsored community rather than a one-time anonymous donation. They believe that it is possible to invest in projects that increase the well-being of society and at the same time avoid accidental damage. They operate with minimal overhead and aim to dedicate almost 100% of grant resources to the intended community project.
Financing information
NextWorldNow offers annual grants of up to $10,000 to international communities.
Eligibility criteria
NextWorldNow Community Investments (NWN) works with individuals, communities and other organizations to achieve this. They invite communities with project ideas to submit their funding requests. They study applications and make funding decisions. They welcome developing partnerships with other organizations on joint projects. They invest in solutions that are built to last and go beyond short-term fixes to solve long-term problems. They continue to refine their process as they learn more about what works and what doesn’t. NWN is a private nonprofit foundation with U.S. 501(c)(3) status.
