Today IHS Towers has operations in Nigeria, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Zambia and Rwanda. Following the recent acquisitions of MTN and Etisalat’s tower portfolios in Nigeria, IHS owns over 23,300 towers in Africa.

Job Title: Manager, Internal Communications

Location: Nigeria
Position type: Full-Time

Job Description

  • Develop and execute the internal communications strategy for the organization, including key messaging, communication channels, and tactics.
  • Create and deliver internal communications content, including email updates, newsletters, intranet content, videos, and presentations.
  • Ensure communication messaging and materials are high quality, accurate, appropriate, and integrated with company priorities, values, and brand guidelines.
  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of internal communications to continuously improve internal communications strategy to reach and engage employees. Make recommendations for improvement based on feedback and data analysis.
  • Develop and maintain a content calendar to ensure that internal communications are timely and relevant.
  • Identify opportunities to promote employee engagement and help foster a positive company culture.
  • Assist with crisis communications, ensuring all employees are informed and up to date.
  • Maintain the company’s internal communication tools, ensuring they are up-to-date and user-friendly. Use internal tools as appropriate to maximize the company’s internal communication effectiveness and ensure consistent messaging, branding, and identity.
  • Coordinate internal events and other related initiatives.
  • Provide daily updates of relevant press mentions to management and critical internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain brand consistency and messaging across all content channels.
  • Manage approved vendor/agency relationships.
  • Other duties as assigned by Associate Director, Corporate Communications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, English, communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of relevant communications experience in an Agency or corporate environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, executing, and monitoring communications strategies.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a diverse and multi-cultural team.

Job Title: Manager, Sustainability

Job Description

  • Ensure the CSR programme is aligned with the CSR strategy and supports advancement of the company’s organizational culture.
  • Evaluate CSR initiatives against industry standards, analyzing results and developing action plans to ensure that the company has a best-in-class CSR programme.
  • Develop, analyze, and evaluate the impact, resource requirements, and cost/ benefit of new CSR programmes. Propose new programmes and initiatives to key business leaders.
  • Develop strategies and materials for the communication of CSR initiatives to all internal and external audiences, ensuring overall messaging is consistent across business units and across corporate communications.
  • Write, edit, and/ or promote materials on the company’s CSR programmes and activities via print and digital channels. Actively contribute to the communication of compelling company and brand messages.
  • Identify and participate in CSR membership organizations and conferences.
  • Arrange and coordinate thought leadership and speaking engagements for senior corporate executives, including industry panels and conferences.
  • Partner with internal departments to enhance and expand CSR-related programmes, metrics, and communications.
  • Manage volunteers, community partners, and interns when applicable. Manage external vendors as necessary.
  • Review and respond to unsolicited in-kind and cash investment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in any relevant discipline; Master’s and/ or MBA will be an added advantage.
  • Six (6) years related experience in sustainable business, communications, and/or project management.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above

Job Title: Manager, External Communications

Location: Nigeria

Responsibilities

  • Generate, implement, and manage creative communication strategies for external audiences such as customers, host communities, government, civil society, media, competitors, and the general public.
  • Work cooperatively with various company departments to determine external communication needs and design corresponding plans.
  • Create dynamic content for projects that include adverts, direct mail, case studies, scripts, fact sheets, company profiles etc.

  • Provide daily updates of relevant press mentions to management and critical internal stakeholders.
  • Manage freelance writers and agency partners as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned by Associate Director, Corporate Communications.

Job Title: Senior Specialist, Guest Audit

Location: Nigeria

Job Description

  • Develop understanding of the IHS Internal Audit (IA) governance processes and ways of working (including annual risk-based audit planning, individual audit engagement cycle, IA methodology etc.)
  • Develop understanding of the risk management process at IHS at both the macro and micro levels (i.e. organizational and engagement level)
  • Participate in assurance and consulting IA projects with a view to eventually leading engagement activities, all as part of the approved internal audit plan.
  • Contribute to the development of internal audit scopes.
  • Perform audit procedures and prepare audit reports reflecting results of the work performed.
  • Follow up on progress or remediation of agreed management actions on circulated internal audit reports.
  • Participate in and eventually lead the review of general controls over regional operations in IHS Nigeria.
  • Undertake and eventually lead investigations/ special audit assignments as requested by senior management, the Board and Audit Committee.
  • Support IA management with providing inputs to quarterly reporting of audit activities to the Audit Committee.
  • Collaborate with other assurance providers to champion internal control awareness initiatives.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc./ HND in business and/ or social-science-related discipline.
  • ACA, ACCA, CIA, CISA, and related professional qualification or membership of relevant professional bodies (e.g. Institute of Internal Auditors) will be an advantage.
  • +6-8 years’ experience in internal auditing, external auditing, compliance or any other relevant role.
  • Ability to work independently, with limited required direction and guidance, and provide appropriate direction to other internal audit team members.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills in selling ideas and obtaining management buy-in for constructive change.
  • Demonstrable understanding and application of internal control concepts to plan, perform, manage and report evaluations of various business processes.
  • Exposure to telecoms and/ or telecoms infrastructure industry.is an advantage
