Recall that the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara earlier this year informed news men that the government is not continuing with the recruitment process which the previous administration conducted.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Senior Lecturers – CONPCASS 07 (CONTEDISS 13)
Candidates must possess the following:

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctorate degrees (BSc; B.A; B.Eng; or B.Tech plus MSc; M.A; M.Eng; or M.Tech and Ph.D) in their relevant core discipline.
• A minimum of 9 years of teaching/research or industrial experience in a recognized higher institution or industry.
• At least five articles published in reputable journals in the relevant field of study, and six conference papers.
• Membership in the relevant professional body is mandatory.

Assistant Lecturers – CONPCASS 02 (CONTEDISS 8)
Candidates must possess:

• A good Bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline plus an NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.
• Evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals is an added advantage.
• Membership in the relevant professional body is mandatory.

Instructors – CONPCASS 02 (CONTEDISS 8)
Candidates must possess:

• A Higher National Diploma (HND with Distinction or Upper Credit) in the relevant discipline from a recognized Polytechnic plus an NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.
• Proven evidence of outstanding contributions to technical/vocational education.

Chief Security Officer
Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

• Possess a good Bachelor’s degree in Law, Criminology, Psychology, or any other relevant discipline with an NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.
• Be an ex-Police Officer not below the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) or its equivalent in any security force.
• Have at least 20 years of related work experience.

Workshop/Laboratory Technologist II – CONPCASS 2 (CONTEDISS 8)
Candidates must possess:

• A Higher National Diploma at credit level in the relevant discipline plus an NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

Workshop/Laboratory Technician – CONTEDISS 6
Candidates must possess:

• A National Diploma or Technical Certificate at credit level in the relevant field.

Confidential Secretary II – CONTEDISS 08
Candidates must possess:

• A Higher National Diploma in Office Technology and Management or Secretarial Studies at credit level.

Confidential Secretary III – CONTEDISS 06
Candidates must possess:

• A National Diploma in Office Technology and Management or Secretarial Studies at credit level.

Nursing Officer/Staff Nurse/Midwife – (CONHESS 08/07)
Candidates must possess:

• A good Bachelor’s degree in Nursing plus registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN), or be a Staff Nurse/Midwife with a Nigerian Registered Nurse (Nigerian Registered Midwife) (NRM) certificate.

Medical Laboratory Technician – CONTEDISS 06
Candidates must possess:

• A National Diploma/National Technical Certificate at credit level in Medical Laboratory Science.

Architectural Draftsmen – CONTEDISS 06
Candidates must possess:

• A National Diploma in Architectural Technology.

Artisan/Craftsman Cadre
Candidates for the following positions must have FSLC, Secondary, or Junior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent plus Government Trade Test III in the relevant craft:

• Electrician
• Masons
• Welder/Fabricator
• Tiler
• Painter
• Carpenter
• Mower
• AC/Refrigerator Technician
• Generator Mechanic

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

All successful candidates will be placed on probation for two (2) years of continuous service upon assumption of duties until the retirement age of 65 years. Persons above 50 years of age need not apply. Other conditions of service are similar to those obtainable in Polytechnics in Nigeria, as regulated by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and the Rivers State Public Service.
