Job Title: Subsurface Data Analyst

Location: Nigeria

Job Description

  • Managing the administration and preparation of digital and physical data for use in subsurface workflows as well as the receipt and distribution of data to and from third parties, e.g. partners, contractors, and regulatory authorities.

Main Responsibilities

  • Drive compliance with approved data standards, governance, process standards, guidelines, and policies for technical data, data management, and data quality management.
  • Collect, organize, and manage subsurface data including well logs, seismic data, geological interpretations, production data, and reservoir engineering data. Maintains records on the type and storage locations of physical data including seismic tapes, cores, ditch cuttings, legacy paper logs and documents, etc.
  • Liaise with Discipline Chiefs to formulate strategies to ensure collected data is of high quality, accurate, and legitimate before uploading to the corporate database or archiving as required
  • Develop and implement workflows for data management (viz: gather, organize, store, analyze) while maintaining data security, integrity, and assigned confidentiality levels.
  • Work with the IT department on regular data troubleshooting to ensure data security and integrity. Develop and manage data management solutions/systems as well as regular backup/restoration of data to prevent data loss. Perform data mining as required.
  • Support the prompt and seamless retrieval of subsurface data, and daily use of data systems to ensure compliance to legal and company data management standards and controls.
  • Ensure final and approved data and documents from completed studies are moved to appropriate repositories or achieved as required (e.g., SharePoint or others)
  • Provide administrative assistance to the subsurface team including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and coordinating travel arrangements.
  • Assist GM Subsurface in preparing and formatting documents, presentations, and technical reports. Manage correspondence, emails, calendars, and phone calls, prioritizing and redirecting inquiries as necessary.
  • Knows the Company’s health, safety, and environmental policy, procedures, regulations, and objectives as they relate to his area of responsibility. Ensure that an HSE culture of Goal Zero is in place by contributing to key initiatives and providing appropriate role modeling: demonstrate full commitment and proactive HSE management.

Educational Qualifications & Skills

  • B.Sc in any relevant Science / Engineering Course with 3 years of relevant experience. Relevant IT certifications (an advantage).
  • The Subsurface Data Manager & Admin Assistant must have a broad understanding of the E&P business to effectively support the teams in studies, exploration, operations, and production activities.

Skills in the following:

  • Data management, data analysis, and database administration
  • Maintenance of data security and confidentiality, data governance principles and practices
  • Good secretarial and administrative skills
  • Good Interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Use of data analysis tools and data management software (Python, Oracle, SQL, etc.)
  • Good organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and good time management skills.
  • Basic understanding of subsurface operations and/or the oil and gas industry.

  • The Senior Project Engineer will lead and oversee the engineering aspects of large-scale oil and gas projects from concept to completion.

Cost Management & Optimization:

  • Monitor project expenditures and ensure alignment with the approved budget.

Educational Qualification & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or related field); a Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 8+ years of experience in project engineering within the oil and gas industry, with a proven track record of managing large-scale projects.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices (e.g., API, ASME, OSHA).
  • Proficient in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and engineering design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, HYSYS).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities

Job Title: Reservoir Engineer

Location: Nigeria

Job Summary

  • The role of the Reservoir Engineer is to participate in field reviews/studies to support field development planning and well and reservoir management activities through analysis and interpretation of Reservoir engineering data & using the same to build numerical reservoir simulation models and other analytical models as may be deemed appropriate.
  • The incumbent is expected under the guidance of senior REs and provide quality contributions to multi-disciplinary teams charged with the identification of production improvement opportunities and production optimization studies.
  • The RE will be assigned roles mainly in the Asset teams and may occasionally be seconded to corporate as the business demands.
  • His/her other roles will include contributions to Reserve booking, New Business Development, and budget management.
  • The contributions of this position directly affect the resource base and growth of the company in terms of hydrocarbon maturation.

Main Responsibilities

  • Work in an integrated study team /asset development team with guidance from senior/principal REs to make quality contributions to studies and field development plans. The required technical work will comprise but not limited to dynamic modelling, well/reservoir performance reviews, development options evaluation and economics. Dissemination of best practices with other team members.
  • Participates in Well surveillance activities (MER, BHP etc), and reservoir definition and behavior prediction of assigned reservoirs or fields.
  • Conducts conventional reservoir engineering and simulation studies to identify optimum recovery and field development options, adjusts reservoir development plans in response to changes in well and reservoir performance. Must have knowledge of well test design & interpretation, material balance modelling and performance modelling of vertical and horizontal wells.
  • Have good knowledge of various oil recovery enhancement techniques (water flood, gas injection, gas lift etc). Conducts, documents and presents, field reviews, and further development proposals.
  • Monitors production from existing fields, analyses all relevant data, and ensures that reservoirs are being properly managed, production is maximized and recoveries are optimal. To see to optimal implementation of reservoir management strategies where they do exist or work in conjunction with senior REs to put one in place where they do not exist.
  • Provides estimates of oil and gas resources by conducting annual reserves evaluation and be familiar with various reserves/resource classifications.
  • Prepares production testing proposals and provides guidelines for execution. Evaluates and interpret results, and recommend optimum methods of performance monitoring. Must have experience in reservoir pressure & fluid sampling, fluid property modelling, routine and special core analysis.
  • Possesses working knowledge of gas condensate reservoir systems as well as gas field development overview.
  • Knows the Company health, safety and environment policy, procedures, regulations and objectives as they relate to his area of responsibility. Ensure that an HSE culture of Goal Zero is in place by contributing to key initiatives and providing appropriate role modeling: demonstrate full commitment and proactive HSE management; act as an Emergency Response team member as appropriate. Conducts effective accident investigation and follow up.
