Job Responsibilities
Route Optimization and Planning:
- Work closely with the Fleet Manager to strategize and optimize delivery routes for maximum efficiency.
- Coordinate with drivers to ensure they are aware of the most efficient schedules and routes to follow.
Communication and Coordination:
- Act as a key link between the marketing team and drivers to ensure smooth communication and coordination. Provide clear instructions, updates, and any changes in schedules to drivers in a timely manner.
Documentation and Record-Keeping:
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of vehicle repair schedules and parts replacements.
- Prepare necessary documentation such as repair quotes and vendor sign-off documents with attention to detail.
Compliance:
- Ensure full compliance with all transportation laws and regulations.
- Assist in obtaining required permits and licenses for transportation operations to ensure legal compliance at all times.
Problem Resolution:
- Address logistics-related issues promptly and efficiently to minimize any disruptions to operations.
- Work closely with the Fleet Manager to investigate and resolve transportation incidents in a proactive manner.
Technology Utilization:
- Utilize fleet management software effectively to track vehicle activities, monitor driver performance, and generate comprehensive reports for analysis.
- Stay informed about new technological advancements in logistics and recommend enhancements to current systems for improved efficiency.

Job Title: Fleet Maintenance Manager (Heavy Duty Vehicle)

Role Description
- This is a full-time on-site role as a Fleet Maintenance Manager at Tak Logistics Limited, Port Harcourt. The role involves overseeing the maintenance and repair of the company’s fleet of vehicles, ensuring they are in optimal working condition, and managing a team of maintenance staff.
Job Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinated, scheduled, and oversaw work of vehicle maintenance and support staff in performing preventive and maintenance repairs of all company heavy-duty vehicles.
- Hire, supervise, counsel, and discipline employees up to and including termination recommendation.
- Supervise staff to include prioritizing and assigning work for all shift schedules.
- Evaluate work and conducts performance evaluations, counsels’ employees on matters of exceptional and deficient performance and work behavior.
- Assess and monitor workloads, identify opportunities for improvement, and direct and implement changes.
- Develop work schedules and overtime assignments to meet operational requirements.
- Conduct group meetings to discuss goals, facilitate communication, and resolve problems within the work group.
- Research and provide documentation for responses to grievances, advise others on grievance solutions to managers and directors. May appear at hearings and arbitration as required.
- Preparation of maintenance and distribution of records, reports, statistics, and other materials for management review.
- Ensure the provision of adequate vehicles and equipment to meet operating and maintenance needs.
- Manage the repair and maintenance activities of all vehicles. The Maintenance Manager has the responsibility and authority for decision-making and control of daily Vehicle Maintenance operations.
- Manage all maintenance activities in the repair, preventative maintenance, rebuild, and body shop departments. Monitor repair procedures and documentation to ensure safe and effective repairs are accomplished.
- Determine needs and procure the appropriate tools, equipment, supplies and training necessary for workshop operations.
Qualifications
- Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in relevant fields with 5 – 8 years work experience.
- Experience in fleet management and vehicle maintenance
- Knowledge of automotive systems and maintenance procedures
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to effectively manage a team and work under pressure
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented and quality-focused approach to work

Job Title: Trailer Driver
Location: Rivers
Employment Type: Contract
Job Description
- Inspect truck for defects and safe operating condition before, during and after trips and submit a written report on the condition of the truck at the end of each trip or tour of duty.
- Drive vehicle to and from designated destinations of up to 11 hours with and maximum of 14 hours total as dot rules allow.
- Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicle at varying speeds in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather.
- Drivers must be able to lift and carry up to seventy-five pounds.
- Reporting all accidents and incidents involving drivers or company equipment.
- Report highway safety hazards noted in route.
- Promptly report any delays due to breakdowns, weather or traffic conditions or other emergencies.
- Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations including driver’s record of duty status,
- Mileage records, and other records required by law.
- Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all federal, state and local regulations for the safe operations of a commercial motor vehicle.
Qualifications
- Minimum of Senior School Certificate.
- Must possess a valid commercial class G driver’s license.
- Must have previous heavy duty vehicle driving experience.
- Must have the ability to read and write English language. Perform simple mathematical calculations. Must have mental ability to handle receipts; read maps, road signs, maintain record of duty status, etc.
- Must have working knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems.
- Must have knowledge of dot regulations governing safe driving, hours of service, inspection and maintenance.
- Must satisfactorily pass a drug test.
- Must satisfactorily pass an alcohol test (if applicable).
