Federal Government National Health Fellows Program Details

The National Health Fellows Program is an initiative of the Nigerian government, implemented through the Nigeria Health Sector Renewal Investment Initiative SWAp Coordination Office under the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.

The program aims to:

Upgrade existing primary healthcare centers.
Construct over 8,800 new primary healthcare centers across all local government areas in Nigeria.
Ensure accessible and high-quality healthcare delivery by introducing new social accountability mechanisms.

Eligibility Criteria for National Health Fellows Program 2025

To be eligible, applicants must:

Be between the ages of 25 and 35.
Hold a bachelor’s degree in a health-related field, IT, or social sciences.
Have a demonstrable interest or experience in public health, health-related NGOs, partner organizations, or community projects showcasing leadership and initiative.
Be available for full-time participation in the fellowship program.
Be an indigene of the state they are applying for.
Possess a smartphone with data capabilities (e.g., for WhatsApp, Zoom, etc.).
Obtain a recommendation letter from a university dean, NYSC place of primary assignment, or a respected organization demonstrating character and leadership.
Showcase analytical skills and entrepreneurial drive.
