Job Title: Junior Accountant

Location: Nigeria

Overview

• The Junior Accountant at Tiqbuy is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial records by reconciling daily sales, cost of goods sold (COGS), expenses, and other accounting activities.
• This role requires meticulous attention to detail, timely reporting, and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data.

Key Responsibilities
Daily Reconciliation:

• Reconcile daily sales across all channels, ensuring that records match reports from the sales system.
• Validate the cost of goods sold (COGS) for all completed transactions, cross-referencing inventory and supplier data.
• Record and reconcile daily expenses, including operational costs, supplier payments, and incidental expenses.

Ledger Maintenance:

• Update general ledger entries daily, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Monitor accounts receivable and payable, ensuring all entries are accurately recorded and tracked.

Error Identification and Resolution:

• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial records promptly.
• Identify patterns of errors and work with relevant teams to address root causes.

Reporting:

• Prepare and submit daily financial summaries for management review.
• Assist in generating weekly and monthly reports on sales, expenses, and overall financial performance.

Compliance:

• Ensure adherence to accounting policies and standards.
• Assist with audit preparations by maintaining organized and complete financial records.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 1-2 years of experience in an accounting role
• Knowledge of Accounting principles and procedures
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive financial information
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and knowledge of accounting software is a plus.

Salary
N115,000 monthly.
