Job Title: Interim Humanitarian Fundraising Project Lead
Location: Nigeria

The Opportunity
- Plan International is on a mission to solidify its position as a dual-mandated humanitarian actor, with an aim to expand funding for emergency programming. We are seeking a dynamic and skilled individual to take on the role of Humanitarian Fundraising Project Lead.
- In this key position, you will act as the central focal point, coordinating a diverse range of stakeholders to drive and diversify flexible humanitarian fundraising across the organization.
- Your role will involve the development and delivery of high-quality fundraising packages, content, communications, concepts, and emergency appeals, as well as overseeing effective income (FOA) management, distribution, reporting, and training. You will help enhance the ability of National Organisations to grow flexible income that resonates with global audiences, ultimately increasing our humanitarian impact.
- Collaboration is key to this role. You will work closely with various teams, including the Global Fundraising Support Team, Humanitarian Team, Communications, Country and Regional Offices, and National Organisations to achieve success.

The Person
- You should have a relevant University Degree or equivalent experience, along with excellent project management skills.
- You possess a deep understanding of innovative fundraising strategies, strong communication and interpersonal abilities, and a genuine interest in humanitarian programming.
- You have demonstrable experience in humanitarian fundraising, ideally within an INGO environment, and are comfortable working with diverse, matrixed teams.
- You are fluent in English and excel at building relationships with various stakeholders.
- With a results-driven, solution-oriented mindset, you thrive in fast-paced, ever-changing environments and ensure high-quality outcomes through strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Job Title: WASH Specialist
Location: Nigeria
Type of Role: 12 month fixed term contract
The Opportunity
- Our new global strategy prioritises humanitarian scale up. To respond to the growing unmet needs in emergencies and to strengthen the speed, quality, relevance and appropriateness of our emergency response and readiness work, we have recently created four new global humanitarian capability units, including the new Hunger Response and Resilience Unit, under which the food security and livelihoods portfolio is located.
- The WASH Specialist will be part of the Global Rapid Response Unit in the Global Humanitarian Team. The post holder will work with technical teams within the other four units, other teams, departments, Country Offices, National Offices within the organisation to ensure that all Plan International’s work contributes to strengthening live saving interventions through WASH in addition to Food security, nutrition, livelihood, child protection, education in emergencies in an integrated manner.
- The WASH Specialist will be required to be deployed to Plan International Country Offices for 75% of the time for a period of up to three months continuously, sometimes into hostile/crisis settings at short notice to provide technical assistance to country offices.
- This position demands technical knowledge, training experience, and work experience in a wide range of humanitarian contexts.
- As WASH Specialist you will ensure technical soundness of the WASH interventions in the Hunger and other humanitarian Crisis response covered by the Plan International.
- WASH interventions will cover both standalone water, sanitation and hygiene programming and, critically, also the integration of WASH within other elements of Plan’s life-saving intervention including Food Crisis response such as food distribution, school feeding, nutrition, in addition to education and child protection and care in health facilities as a fundamental pre-requisite for maximising the effectiveness of these interventions.
- In collaboration with Country Offices, regional management and National Organisations you will advise and support high performing country teams to improve their WASH intervention approaches, strategy and practice, ensuring specific WASH/GEDSI (Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion) outcomes are included, and explore WASH and integrated programming related funding opportunities, ensuring accountability for meeting targets, and maintaining alignment with the Plan International global strategy.

Job Title: Youth Advocacy Officer
Location: Globally, Flexible
Type of Role: Fixed term role from April to September 2025.
The Opportunity
- This is a Fixed term role from April to September 2025, this could be considered a secondment opportunity.
- In this role as the Youth Advocacy Officer you will deliver the She Leads activities for Plan International within the global level programme. This includes facilitating opportunities for GYW-led groups to engage at the Geneva level (under the “Change Agents” objective of the UN Strategy) and advocating for girls’ and young women’s participation to be included in relevant policy documents (under the “Changing Policy”. Specifically, this role is responsible for the smooth running of the She Leads UN Youth Cohort.
- The role will also work with other functions within the UN Team, to integrate key She Leads programme activities into the work and priorities of the team, supporting colleagues in identifying opportunities to further GYW-led advocacy as part of the broader work of the UN Team. Furthermore, the role will work together with key internal teams (GH Policy Advocacy Campaigns Engagement (PACE), LEAD Network, among others).
- The role will contribute to monitoring and evaluation requirements for the She Leads project, as well as monitor expenses related to the cohort.
Technical Expertise, Skills and Knowledge
- Good understanding of the UN system and its human rights mechanisms in particular, including how these can advance national level advocacy;
- Knowledge of gender equality, women’s, children’s and girls’ rights, feminist principles, and familiarity with the Sustainable Development Agenda;
- Previous experience with conducting multilateral advocacy;
- Able to influence human rights system through strengthening language and use of mechanisms;
- Knowledge of current political trends and events affecting children’s and girls’ rights;
- Ability to communicate complex issues in an accessible and simple manner;
- Excellent writing skills – especially for policy-related documents;
- Good understanding of youth activism, advocacy and young feminist organizing;
- Excellent level of oral and written English;
- Good organisational, and project and time management skills;
- Skilled and confident user of Microsoft Office applications (including Excel);
- Desirable – completion of a Master’s degree programme in human rights, political science, gender studies, international law, international development or any other specific field relevant to Plan International’s work.
