About the African Oxford Initiative Fellowship 2025

The African Oxford Initiative AfOx Visiting Fellowship Program 2025 is offered in collaboration with various departments at the University of Oxford, including:

  • The Mathematical Institute

  • The Refugee Studies Centre

  • The African Studies Centre

  • TORCH (The Oxford Research Centre in the Humanities)

  • Oxford Department for International Development

  • The Pandemic Sciences Institute (PSI)

Fellows will be affiliated with Oxford for 12 months, consisting of 10 months of virtual engagement and a two-month in-person residency during Oxford’s Trinity Term (April–June 2026).

During the program, Fellows will work alongside Oxford-based scholars and will be attached to an academic department and college within the University.

To qualify for the African Oxford Initiative AfOx Visiting Fellowship 2025, applicants must:

  • Be a national of an African country or hold indefinite leave to remain in an African country

  • Hold an academic or research position at a recognized African university or research institution

  • Be a legal resident in the host country of the institution they are affiliated with
