About the African Oxford Initiative Fellowship 2025

The African Oxford Initiative AfOx Visiting Fellowship Program 2025 is offered in collaboration with various departments at the University of Oxford, including:

The Law Faculty
The Mathematical Institute
The Refugee Studies Centre
The African Studies Centre
TORCH (The Oxford Research Centre in the Humanities)
Oxford Department for International Development
Improving Equitable Access to Healthcare
The Pandemic Sciences Institute (PSI)

Fellows will be affiliated with Oxford for 12 months, consisting of 10 months of virtual engagement and a two-month in-person residency during Oxford’s Trinity Term (April–June 2026).

During the program, Fellows will work alongside Oxford-based scholars and will be attached to an academic department and college within the University.

Eligibility Criteria for AfOx Visiting Fellowship 2025

To qualify for the African Oxford Initiative AfOx Visiting Fellowship 2025, applicants must:

Be a national of an African country or hold indefinite leave to remain in an African country
Hold an academic or research position at a recognized African university or research institution
Be a legal resident in the host country of the institution they are affiliated with

12-month fellowship (10 months virtual + 2 months in-person at Oxford)
