Nomba, launched in 2017 as “Kudi.ai”, is a chatbot that responds to financial requests on social apps. Nomba has since evolved to empower independent businesses to act as neighborhood banks offering basic financial services such as cash withdrawal, transfer and bill payments to all Nigerians, especially those in underserved communities. Today we process more than $500m in payments monthly.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Technical Support Engineer

Location: Nigeria

Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical guide for merchants integrating with Nomba APIs, providing real-time support across official channels.
  • Own, update, and maintain API documentation to ensure it is always developer-friendly and accurate.
  • Take ownership of the API service, contributing to improvements, updates, and bug fixes.
  • Write clean, maintainable code to improve the API service repository.
  • Debug complex issues effectively, with strong familiarity in using Google Cloud Logging and related debugging tools.
  • Prioritise customer success with a strong sense of urgency—ready to unblock merchants regardless of the hour.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with merchants and internal teams, upholding Nomba’s brand of excellence and reliability.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure feedback from merchants is looped into the development cycle.
  • The ideal candidate should have both Java backend engineering experience and customer support experience.
  • Diagnose and resolve escalated issues across systems (e.g., backend APIs, integrations, databases).
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for high-impact incidents within agreed timelines.
  • Contribute to post-mortem reviews and identify preventive measures on vendor-api
  • Reduce repeat incidents by implementing or recommending long-term fixes on Vendor-API

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Java, particularly Dropwizard and Spring Boot frameworks.
  • Solid debugging experience, with expertise in Google Cloud Logging Console.
  • Strong understanding of Grafana for service metric and performance analysis
  • Proven ability to write clean, testable, and maintainable code.
  • Excellent communication skills with a corporate sense of professionalism and customer empathy.
  • Ability to own processes end-to-end, from documentation to code-level fixes.
  • A problem-solving mindset with relentless focus on unblocking customers quickly and effectively.
  • Experience in API service management, integration support, or related technical support roles is a plus.

Job Title: Corporate Banking Manager

Location: Nigeria

Job Summary

  • We are looking for a Corporate Banking Manager to build and manage the Corporate Banking division, mobilize large-corporate deposits and manage the corporate vault/treasury liabilities, ensure risk is well controlled, and drive revenue and margin growth via services for corporations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute corporate banking strategy aimed at growing corporate deposits, operational account balances, escrow/vault holdings, and term liabilities.
  • Identify, acquire, and manage relationships with large corporate clients (revenue/turnover thresholds), ensuring high service, cross-selling banking products (cash management, trade finance, treasury services, corporate loans).
  • Set up and manage corporate vault services, ensuring robust security, compliance & operational efficiency.
  • Oversee credit/risk underwriting for corporate clients; ensure portfolio remains healthy, with acceptable non-performing loan (NPL) levels.
  • Lead product innovation in deposit/liability products (fixed deposits, notice accounts, corporate sweep accounts, liquidity products).
  • Work with Finance / Treasury to optimize cost of funds, yield on deposits, and liquidity management.
  • Manage compliance, KYC/AML, and regulatory reporting for corporate banking.
  • Build, coach, and manage a high-performing team of Relationship Managers, Treasury/Deposit Officers, and Credit Analysts.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Corporate Deposits Growth
  • Mobilize N40-60B in new corporate deposit liabilities in 12 months
  • Average Deposit Tenor / Stability
  • Target minimum average tenor of say 90-120 days; reduce deposit churn
  • Number of New Corporate Clients e.g. onboard 20+ large corporates with deposit/volume thresholds (> N500M or > N1B).

Skills & Experience

  • 5-8+ years in corporate banking / commercial banking; Financial House, proven track record in deposit mobilization, treasury or cash management.
  • Experience in structuring and managing large corporate vaults/escrow or liquidity products.
  • Strong credit risk & underwriting experience.
  • Excellent relationship management & negotiation skills; deep network among large enterprises.
  • Good understanding of regulatory, compliance, AML/KYC requirements in Nigeria.
  • Strong analytical, financial modelling, and forecasting skills.
  • Leadership experience: managing teams, coaching, driving performance.

Job Title: Investment Banking Manager

Description

  • We are looking for an Investment Banking Manager to build and manage the Investment Banking arm or deal structuring unit; originate and close transactions (equity, debt, advisory), manage institutional/high net worth capital flows; create investment products; and enhance the company’s presence in capital markets; also contribute to AUM growth via investment mandates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute investment banking/capital markets strategy: advisory, underwriting, capital raising, structuring mergers & acquisitions (M&A), IPOs, bond issuance etc.
  • Identify large institutional investors, private equity, mutual funds, and HNI clients; build networks to attract investment mandates.
  • Mobilize large deposits from Big Segments viz:  Shipping, Construction, Car dealers, Real Estate, Oil & Gas, Agriculture, etc.
  • Structure financial transactions, do valuation, due diligence, negotiate terms, and manage legal & regulatory processes.
  • Work with product/structuring teams to build investment products or funds that can accept external capital.
  • Support corporate banking when clients need investment/fundraising services; drive synergies.
  • Ensure compliance with capital markets regulations, securities commission, and overseas regulatory exposure if applicable.
  • Drive revenue via advisory fees, underwriting fees, fund management fees, etc.
  • Build and mentor a team: analysts, associates, legal/advisory specialists, structuring and risk analysts.

Skills & Experience

  • 5 – 8 years in investment banking, corporate finance, deal structuring, or advisory.
  • Experience in structuring large equity or debt instruments, M&A, and  IPOs is highly valuable.
  • Strong financial modelling, valuation, due diligence, legal/contract skills.

  • Good understanding of capital markets regulations in Nigeria.
