Since its incorporation, the company has grown in leaps and bounds, expanding its business horizon, but still within the Oil and Gas sector.

ABNL is a 100% owned indigenous firm, with a shareholding in excess of 100 million Naira. Its’ directors are individuals of proven integrity, who over the years have acquired the requisite experience in the Oil and Gas business, as well as in the banking and finance sector. The integrity of the directors and the staff of the company have been a priceless contributive factor in the growth and wellbeing of the company.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Engineering – Rig Supervisor III

Location: Offshore, Akwa Ibom
Employment Type: Contract

Job Description
Main Functions:

  • Represents the company on a rig site to support the safe and efficient execution of well plans. Is the primary contact for rig and third party personnel to ensure logistics for personnel, equipment and services are appropriately organized and managed.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for communicating expectations regarding safety, security, health, and environment; provides guidance and supports managing Safety, Security, Health, and Environment (SSHE) events
  • Responsible for communicating oi Systems (oi System (oi) ) expectations on the rig site
  • Monitors rig operations to provide feedback and input to the rig contractor to ensure well control procedures are properly followed and emergency situations are appropriately managed
  • Responsible for ensuring that safety, operational, environmental, security and other drills are conducted on site at specified frequencies
  • Responsible for ensuring drilling and completion procedures are followed as approved and utilizes management of change processes if changes are required
  • Orders and organizes logistics for services and equipment necessary to conduct drilling and completion operations efficiently
  • Supports onsite surveillance requirements for the operation in areas such as kick detection, abnormal pressure detection, torque & drag, mud properties, and solids control efficiency
  • Responsible for generation of accurate and adequate operations reports
  • Interfaces with engineering and geology to ensure understanding of well objectives and procedural requirements

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in rig supervisory or rig leadership roles for drilling and completion operations
  • Experience working for a major Operator or Drilling Contractor
  • Hold current certification for Well Control.

Job Title: Engineering – Materials Lead III

Location: Offshore Platform, Akwa Ibom
Employment Type: Contract

Job Description

  • The Materials Lead manages and expedites flow of materials, equipment, parts, and assemblies between internal and external departments and sites, according to delivery and shipping schedules and project priorities, and compiles and maintains computerized records.

Tasks and Responsibilities
In addition to all Level 1 and 2 tasks and responsibilities, Level 3:

  • Oversees and ensures the compilation and maintenance manual or computerized records, such as material inventory, delivery, shipping and storage reports, and status and location of materials.
  • Monitor and oversee the transport of materials from one department to another.
  • Manages and ensures arrangement for repair and/or assembly of company-provided materials, equipment or parts.
  • Any additional activities as directed by the Project Manager and Site Manager required to support delivery.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in materials management preferred
  • Bachelors’ or Master’s degree required with 10 – 25 years work experience.
  • General knowledge of industry equipment and materials with ability to positively identify components.
  • Extensive knowledge of SAP material catalogs and search tools
  • Extensive knowledge of how and where materials are used in the plant
  • Knowledgeable of quality control systems and procedures.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Access or equivalent programs.
  • Work experience in Oil and Gas industry
  • Advanced time management skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Advanced written and oral communications skills
  • Influencing with and without authority
  • Organization skills.

Job Title: Engineering – Drilling Project OI Advisor III

Location: Offshore Platform, Akwa Ibom
Employment Type: Contract

Main Functions

  • The Drilling Offshore Installation (OI) Project Advisor is responsible for supporting drilling operations regarding Safety, Security, Health, and Environment (SSHE) issues.
  • The Advisor serves as a contact for SSHE issues related to Drilling Project-based activities, executing initiatives, developing and executing programs/plans, and responding to requests and questions from the drill team.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Provide Company SSHE representation for the project, in addition to rig sites and rig move and transport operations ensuring full communication of concerns, activities and initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain site orientation/induction program.
  • Develop programs, plans, initiatives, e.g. Operations SSHE Plan, Drill Team SSHE Leadership Forums, Site Stewardship Plans, Emergency Management Plan, etc.
  • Monitor contractor/service partner compliance with all Company Drilling SSHE requirements and specifically the Drill Team/Rig “Operations Safety Plan”, advising contractor/service partner and Operations Superintendents of SSHE issues.
  • Conduct oi System (oi) Compliance audits.
  • Provide support to rig sites/locations in the event of an incident with regards to reporting, advice on mitigation and prevention methods, etc.
  • Develop and maintain safety related training for contractor work crews.
  • Facilitate regular SSHE inspection, assessments and audit on-site in accordance with established Company SSHE programs or as requested by the site team.
  • Monitor the safety performance of the sites and report non-conformances.
  • Monitor Company safety awareness, recognition and incentive programs.
  • Review and coordinate site contractor’s SSHE plans.
  • Participate as required in investigation and follow-up of incidents/accidents.
  • Facilitate the Drill Team SSHE safety steering committees.
  • Identify trends to develop programs and/or initiatives to promote an injury free work environment.
  • Conduct rig inspections with Operations Superintendent and Rig Safety Advisor.
  • Continually bring to the forefront of all employees, the Company Vision and how it can be achieved.
  • Attend all Drill Team daily/weekly SSHE meetings.
  • Relentlessly, aggressively, and proactively address any safety trends and/or safety issues that poses or could pose a risk to the workface.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or previous experience in a closely related position.
  • Extensive knowledge of Drilling operations/processes and safety regulations.
  • Extensive organizational and technical judgment skills.
  • Consistently demonstrated teamwork and communication skills.
  • Exceptional networking and social skills in order to build and maintain solid working relationships.
  • Ability to research and communicate general industry standards.
  • Demonstrated skills to positively influence drilling workforce – employees and contractors.
  • Ability to be effective with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities and schedules.
  • Exceptional skills in MS Office suite of software programs; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
  • Read, write, and speak fluent English, especially as it applies to technical and business communications.
  • Ability to work and communicate in international locales and with diverse cultures.
  • Maintains a high degree of ethical conduct.
  • Ability to work in harsh environments (examples include temperature and/or humidity extremes, remote locations).
  • Demonstrated ability (through past successes) to deliver excellence in SSHE performance.
  • Must be fit for duty for a remote offshore/onshore drilling environment (examples include uneven, unpaved walking surfaces, large structures that are accessible only via ladders or stairs). Activities include standing for extended time periods, climbing, bending, walking, reaching, and other physical demands.

Job Title: Engineering – Completions Engineer III

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Contract

Job Description
Main Functions:

  • Prepare detailed engineering designs and coordinate all phases of planning and completing a well
  • Ensure the geological and reservoir objectives of the well are met while assuring the highest standards of engineering integrity, safety, and environmental protection are applied to the well design and execution.
  • Prepare designs and well plans representing the optimal costs and investments for the wells.
  • In a Technical role, provide review and support to Drill team designs and operations described in the main functions: above, as well as evaluate and progress new technology. Could include subsea technology.

Tasks and Responsibilities
In addition to the Level 1 and 2 tasks, a Level 3 Completions Engineer must:

  • Facilitate the preparation and monitor capital budgets relating to completions and well design.
  • Ensure accurate and sustainable quality of data for timing projects • Interact daily with completion foreman, drilling leadership, etc.
  • Interact with completion Service Company representing to improve efficiency operations and cost out lays
  • Identify and apply industry best practices as applicable
  • Work in conjunction with safety, environmental and field operations personnel to optimize safety performance.

Skills and Qualifications

  • BSc Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
  • Broad and extensive knowledge of completions design, equipment, operations, standards and specifications. This could include subsea systems technology.
  • Strong personal effectiveness in leadership, communications, interpersonal skills, and teamwork
  • Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs Read, write, and speak fluent English, especially as it applies to technical and business communications.
