ABNL Limited was incorporated in 1992, as an Oil and Gas servicing company, with a vision to provide professional engineering and technical services to the Oil and Gas exploration and production companies in Nigeria and the West African sub-region. Since its incorporation the company has grown in leaps and bound, expanding its business horizon but still within the Oil and Gas sector.

We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:

Instrument Maintenance Technician I – Operations (Tech)

Location: Offshore Location, Akwa Ibom
Employment Type: Contract
Work Schedule: 2wk on / 2wk off – 14 days on
Assignment Type: Offshore Rotation
Work Location: 1348-Ubit Platform

Main Functions

  • Installs and maintains instrument equipment in compliance with all rules and practices.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Plans, updates, and oversees all activities within his or her areas of responsibility according to the laws, regulations, standards, specifications, and procedures. Special emphasis must be placed on health, safety, and the environment.
  • Supports and encourages team effort between operations, engineering, and projects groups.
  • Provides input and reviews the control specifications and work practices.
  • Is responsible and accountable for control systems as defined in the Work Management Manual.
  • Has the knowledge to apply and follow work permits through Permit To Work System (PTWS) as discussed in the Work Management Manual.
  • Ensures the quality and timely completion of work scheduled by the Maintenance Program.
  • Develops personal and team technical skills (for example, new regulations, equipment, methods, and others).
  • Attends and instructs (as needed) technical meetings, to keep instrument technicians informed of the latest specifications, codes, procedures, and technology.
  • Develops and maintains open communications on control issues (for example, safe work practices, training, materials, and others) with co-workers.

Skills and Qualifications
Education and Experience:

  • Candidates should possess minimum of a Grade 12 or an equivalent High School education, preferably enhanced by related technical school courses.
  • 5 – 10 years relevant work experience.
  • Experience in maintaining Instruments and Controls in processing plant or offshore production plant.

General Technical Skills:

  • Is familiar with regulations applicable to the operations of oil and gas facilities.
  • OIMS systems, related manuals, and procedures.

Specific Technical Skills:

  • Meets the safety, administrative, and technical training requirements associated with this position as documented in the company operations-approved training roadmap.
  • Possesses the general competencies and Operations Integrity Critical competency requirements as documented and maintained in company Operations Training roadmap.
  • Computing skills.

Job Title: Machinery Engineer / Specialist II

Location: Akwa Ibom
Employment Type: Contract

Main Functions

  • Evaluate and comment on discipline engineering work performed both internally and by Contractors and sub-contractors to ensure that work is being executed in accordance with Company specifications, company standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitates effective execution of discipline engineering and design routines that align with the team’s goals, objectives, and procedures. Assures accurate and timely communication among the team and other company Functions on discipline engineering activities, progress, and issues.
  • In addition to technical ability, they should demonstrate sound communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.

Tasks and Responsibilities
In addition to all Level 1 tasks, Level 2 will:

  • Work in a team environment with other engineering disciplines, operations and mechanical personnel
  • Proactively seek reliability improvements directed at increasing plant equipment uptime while reducing maintenance costs.
  • Specify new rotating equipment to comply with industry and company design practices
  • Ensure safe, cost effective, operable machinery and associated systems are provided and maintained to meet current business unit needs.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering specialty, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong knowledge of discipline design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria
  • Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs.
  • Read, write, and speak fluent English, especially as it applies to technical and business communications.
  • Scope of Work specific to this Assignment: Machinery engineering support for Gas and NGL processing facilities.

  • Operations Advisor has responsibilities for clusters, zone, or at global company level.
  • Expert resource for specific management systems, global processes and procedures, technical matters, and coordination of improvement plans.
  • Demonstrates expert operations and/or maintenance skills; ability to influence without authority and interact at all levels within an organization.
  • Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse groups; able to network effectively across organizations.
  • Operations Advisor will cover some but not all of the responsibilities listed below.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Coordinates development of operations and maintenance design philosophies including project specific specifications.
  • Demonstrates a broad understanding of the impact of changes across functional boundaries.
  • Provides technical expertise and facilitates consistent coordination of Operations Integrity Management System (OIMS), Global Product Quality Management System (GPQMS)/Global Product Integrity Management System (GPIMS), Hydrocarbon Controls Practices (HCP) matters, Unit Internal Assessment (UIA), and audit preparation.
  • Provides technical expertise and facilitates consistent coordination of risk assessments, incident investigation.
  • Provides functional guidance with respect to technical matters and structural improvements/initiatives in operations and/or manufacturing and may include coordination of improvement plans.
  • Helps coordinate cost management and productivity improvement plans.
  • Provides technical support and input to training development and delivery.
  • Leads or participates in cross-functional initiatives.
  • Supports Operations Management as requested.
  • Develops, maintains and shares best practices.
  • Guides resources that are made available to execute key initiatives.
  • Networks and develops effective relationships with cross-functional representatives and teams, industry associations’ suppliers and resellers/dealers/third parties as appropriate.

Scope of Work specific to this Assignment:

  • Operations Advisor III to provide Operations guidance and support for UNM and other assignment

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree required with at least 20 years experience
  • Behavioral Skills: adaptability, analytical capability, collaboration, effective communication, mentorship, innovative, applied learning, shows initiative.
  • Functional Skills: Safety, Security, Health, and Environment (SSHE) management – operations and maintenance, managing critical operations and workforce, plant operating technology, maintenance management.
  • Previous experience in a closely related positionand/or industry experience
  • Demonstrates sound business judgement, decision making skills and customer focus
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills (either formal or informal) and ability to create ownership and commitment to the organization’s purpose
  • Familiarity with SAP and warehouse management systems
  • Ability to drive functional excellence through a willingness to aggressively pursue new and creative approaches to resolve problems; strong willingness to share own expertise and tricks of the trade
