About the NWDC Scholarship 2025

The North West Development Commission (NWDC) was founded under the NWDC Act of 2024, signed into law by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. The Commission is dedicated to the advancement and modernization of the North-West region of Nigeria.

As part of its commitment to human capital development, NWDC is pleased to launch the 2025/2026 Undergraduate & Postgraduate Foreign Scholarship Programme.

This initiative aims to promote academic brilliance and equip deserving individuals from the North-West with opportunities to study at renowned institutions worldwide.


Eligibility Criteria for NWDC Scholarship

Applicants must:

  • Be a native of one of the North-West States: Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto, or Zamfara.

  • Have a Distinction in 3 core science O’Level subjects and at least 5 credits in no more than 2 sittings.

  • Maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.8 for undergraduate applicants.

  • Hold a CGPA of at least 4.0/5.0 in a Master’s program (for PhD applicants).

  • Be 22 years or younger (Undergraduate), 35 or younger (Master’s), and 40 or younger (PhD) at the time of application.
