Key Responsibilities

• Drive the introduction and promotion of Bosak MFB, Bosak Trade Loan (BTL) and other products to prospective customers.
• Supervise and manage all Business Managers and Loan Officers within the Area Office.
• Monitor business performance, provide operational support and drive achievement of business and loan portfolio targets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with market associations, business groups and customers.
• Conduct and supervise customer and guarantor verification, including cross-guarantee arrangements within groups.
• Ensure prompt and accurate remittance of cash collections into the appropriate bank accounts.
• Apply the 5 Cs of Lending: Character, Capacity, Capital, Collateral and Conditions in loan assessment and monitoring.
• Ensure proper payment and documentation of equity contributions and upfront fees.
• Monitor weekly loan repayment collections, passbook/register updates and issuance of tellers.
• Ensure proper documentation, record keeping, monitoring and supervision of Area Office activities.
• Assess and interpret customers’ accounts and transaction history on the system.
• Ensure effective group management, loan monitoring and repayment performance.
• Identify portfolio risks, follow up on delinquent accounts and support effective recovery efforts.

What We’re Looking For

• Mandatory: Previous experience in a Microfinance Bank (MFB).
• Strong knowledge of microfinance lending and group lending operations.
• Proven ability to supervise and manage Loan Officers/Business Managers.
• Good understanding of loan appraisal, collections, portfolio monitoring, and recovery.
• Strong communication, leadership, and relationship-management skills.
• Target-driven with the ability to manage a high-performing field team.

Job Title: Financial Control Officer

Location: Ogba, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

• Prepare weekly Financial Control (FinCon) Unit ALCO reports and minutes of meetings.
• Prepare monthly management accounts accurately and within established timelines.
• Prepare Board meeting reports and minutes of meetings.
• Provide supervisory support within the FinCon Unit, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery of all assigned outputs.
• Prepare and submit monthly CBN N-Returns to the Unit Head for review and onward submission.
• Prepare and submit weekly bank reconciliations to the Unit Head every Tuesday in soft copy.
• Complete and submit End-of-Month (EOM) bank reconciliations to the Unit Head by the 5th day of the following month in hard copy.
• Ensure the prompt preparation and posting of monthly journals.
• Monitor idle funds and ensure prompt placement in appropriate Fixed or Call Deposits with correspondent banks, subject to approval.
• Act on behalf of the Unit Head during periods of absence, ensuring continuity of operations, implementation of decisions, and compliance with reporting obligations.
• Liaise effectively with account officers of correspondent banks on banking and financial control matters.
• Maintain proper documentation of PAYE, WHT, and EMTL monthly remittances and receipts.
• Process and document customer Fixed Deposit placements and investment advices within 24 hours of approved requests.
• Conduct daily reviews of income and balance sheet accounts and escalate discrepancies where necessary.
• Ensure accurate and timely posting of financial transactions.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Unit Head.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Professional accounting qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent is an added advantage.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in financial control, accounting, audit, or a related role, preferably within the banking or financial services sector.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, bank reconciliation, management accounts, regulatory returns, and financial controls.
• Good understanding of CBN regulatory reporting requirements and applicable financial regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/financial management systems.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and integrity.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple deliverables effectively.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to work independently while providing effective supervisory support to the FinCon Unit.
