1). Procurement Intern

Location: Nigeria

Position Summary:

  • The role of the procurement intern is to provide support to the EpiC technical assistance on COVID-19 Response Mechanism (C19RM) grant implementation by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). This role primarily involves assisting the NCDC procurement team with C19RM-related procurement activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect, collate, and upload procurement data to the designated platform as required by the Global Fund.
  • Assist in day-to-day procurement activities related to C19RM, including data collation and analysis.
  • Participate in market surveys and analyze price intelligence as part of routine tasks.
  • Develop and maintain procurement records for all Global Fund procurement activities.
  • Undertake any other assignments as directed by the Head of the Procurement Unit at NCDC.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to manage tight deadlines and handle a high volume of work with minimal supervision.
  • Organizational skills to monitor administrative and implementation results effectively.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a diverse team.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc./BA) in Business Administration, Computer Science, Economics, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in the outlined areas.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to use the internet and email.
  • Successful completion of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program.
  • Experience with large complex organizations is preferred, with familiarity with international NGOs being an advantage.

 

 

 

 

2). Warehouse Manager

Location: Nigeria

Position Summary:

  • The Warehouse Manager, under the guidance of the Technical Lead, COVID, will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of the COVID-19 Response Mechanism (C19RM) grant by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). Specifically, the Warehouse Manager will oversee the management and operations of the NCDC warehouse concerning COVID-19 commodities and supplies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise and support for the day-to-day operations of the NCDC warehouse, as well as coordination of sub-warehouses in various locations.
  • Support the enhancement of Nigeria’s warehousing system and contribute to supply chain processes for health commodities.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of all items stored at the NCDC-supported warehouse, including real-time updates of stock cards at the bin level.
  • Ensure timely updates of the warehouse stock report, including the status of supplies requested for release and shelf-life monitoring.
  • Lead the NCDC warehouse in tasks such as storage, picking and packing, receiving, processing orders, and dispatching of commodities, including quality checks for received supplies.
  • Verify the completeness and conformity of consignments with purchase order instructions and conduct counts of incoming supplies.
  • Oversee the loading and dispatching of released supplies on transporter trucks/vehicles in a timely manner.
  • Provide administrative support related to supply chain and warehouse functions.
  • Generate daily warehouse reports, including Goods Receipt, Goods Issuance, damage reports, and send soft copies of relevant documents.
  • Conduct monthly warehouse quality checks, including fire safety, smoke detectors, and pest control systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficiency in planning, organizing, and coordinating team-based work.
  • Strong teamwork, collaboration, and consultation skills with diverse constituencies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in information compilation and data analysis.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in email, word processing, and spreadsheet applications (preferably Microsoft Office).
  • Ability to travel within Nigeria for a minimum of 25% of the time.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Laboratory Science, or a relevant field with 7-9 years of experience in Warehousing and Supply Chain.
  • Alternatively, an MA/MS Degree in Pharmacy, Supply Chain, or Laboratory Science with 5-7 years of relevant experience and 3 years of experience in Warehousing and Supply Chain.
  • Knowledge of working principles with the Nigerian Government and donor agencies is essential.
  • Familiarity with the Nigerian supply chain system, COVID-19, and the Global Fund supply chain system and requirements is an advantage.
  • The candidate’s experience must reflect the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed above.
