Job Title: Shift & Assistant Manager (Graduate Trainee)

Job Purpose

  • To deliver operational excellence in Operations, Financial Planning and Control, Customer Service, People Development and Sales Building.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Operations Health & Safety, Loss Control:

  • To carry out QSC (Quality, Service & Cleanliness) checks including meat cook outs.  Completion of the daily planner tool.
  • To ensure regular travel paths to monitor shift control and to identify and correct service, product or quality issues.
  • To ensure all food and equipment is prepared in time for the restaurant opening or ensure that all food products and equipment are stored in the correct manner prior to closing the restaurant in the evening.
  • To draw up and implement staff positioning plans through a shift.
  • To report all Health & Safety issues to the Restaurant Manager
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures.

Business Planning and Financial Control:

  • Manage safe controls and ensure all cash is accounted for within the Company Cash Policy.
  • To ensure that supervisors implement the stock level control system and maintain stocks correctly.
  • Complete daily, weekly and monthly preventative maintenance checks.
  • Ensure compliance to portion sizes and waste target.

Customer Service:

  • Be a role model for great Customer Service “lead by example”
  • Monitor service quality in terms of ordering procedures, and order accuracy of front counter staff.
  • Resolve customer complaints promptly.
  • Monitor staff to provide Gold Standard service.

People Management:

  • Provide on-the-job training to new staff and corrective training to all staff.
  • Develop staff members’ skills and workstation proficiency toward Service Expert level.
  • Listen to staff issues and bring to the attention of the Restaurant Manager/ Area Manager or encourage staff to bring up any issues at staff meetings.

Sales Building:

  • Ensure selling up practices are used.
  • Brief staff on promotional activity.
  • Provide restaurant management with ideas on staff incentives.
  • Recognise and acknowledge regular customers to ensure continued return to the restaurant.

Job Specifications

  • B.Sc / HND in any discipline
  • A Minimum of 0-2 years of experience in similar role.

Knowledge Requirements:

  • To manage shift within the restaurant as detailed by the Restaurant Manager/ Area Manager and Maintaining the highest possible standards of customer service, product quality and restaurant cleanliness.

Working Conditions

Job Title: Senior Manager, Training and Development

Location: Nigeria 

Responsibilities
Strategic planning and alignment:

  • Coordinate development and evaluation of employee development policies and procedures
  • Ensure embedment of Food Concept’s objectives and plans into future training needs
  • Ensure an appropriate learning system in order to promote the desired proficiency level for every participant
  • Promote, develop and implement effective result orientation, learning and feedback mechanisms to provide input for the continuous development of the company’s people learning and development strategy and employee development plan.
  • Analyse training needs to develop new training programs or modify and improve existing programs
  • Plan, develop, and provide training and staff development programs, using knowledge of the effectiveness of methods such as classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences, and workshops.
  • Prepare training budget for departments.

Employee Training and Development:

  • Oversee training and development programs of staff across the organization.
  • Review and track internal and external training and development targets across all departments
  • Perform weekly store visit and training performance evaluation
  • Ensure consistency in the delivery and application of training standards across the business and oversees the planning, prioritization, and development of new training programs and initiatives, ensuring that these programs and initiatives are consistent with the business overall strategies, objectives, and needs.
  • Evaluate instructor performance and the effectiveness of training programs, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Confer with management and conduct surveys to identify training needs based on projected production processes, changes, and other factors.
  • Oversee training compliance to ITF Requirements
  • Ensure compliance to regulatory training requirements.

Talent Management:

  • Develop and implement an employee mentoring programme for Food Concepts
  • Drive the development and deployment of a competency framework for the business.
  • Coordinate the development of a talent management strategy for Food Concepts.

KPIs

  • Achievement of Company Sales, EBITDA, GP, PAT targets
  • Achievement of the Training & Development Department’s budget/targets/objectives
  • Achievement of Individual Personal Development Plans

Job Requirements

  • A good First Degree in Social / Management / Physical Sciences
  • Possession of a Postgraduate degree in Human Resource Management / Business Administration or related degree is an added advantage
  • Membership of the CIPM, CIPD, HRBP, SHRM or any other related professional qualification is required.
  • Minimum of 8 years in Human Resources specifically training and development experience in a similar role in a multi-site, structured environment and/or in a Consulting firm
