3). Supply Planning Manager

Location: Nigeria

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities

In this role, your responsibilities include:

  • Managing inventory replenishment, including reviewing factory production plans, balancing stock between LC’s (shuttles), and proactively communicating service risks.
  • Reviewing and challenging monthly/weekly production, inventory deployment, and capacity plans to ensure a proper flow of finished goods across the product supply chain for assigned consumer products.
  • Collaborating closely with Operations, Distribution Planning, L.C. Centers, Sales Forecasting, and Marketing.
  • Managing inventory levels for raw materials, packaging materials, Finished Goods, and Work-in-Progress (WIP) categories.
  • Managing orders, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), DRP (Distribution Requirements Planning), and supply relationships with co-packers and key material suppliers/vendors.
  • Supporting project managers in planning the launch of new products and overseeing the inventory plan from launch through the product life cycle.
  • Taking a lead role in using SAP/SNP to the fullest extent to support planning activities.
  • Reacting to MRP (Material Requirements Planning) system messages while maintaining and supporting the system on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Recommending improvements to the inventory system where errors could affect the replenishment systems, financial position, credibility, or overall operation.
  • Reporting, resolving, and communicating situations that will impact customer service promptly.
  • Developing an inventory strategy for all items.
  • Calculating and maintaining target inventory levels (safety stock).
  • Leading the weekly reason code process for items and the out-of-stock (OOS)/Distress process.

Professional Qualification & Experience

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related discipline.
  • 2 – 3 years of professional planning experience, including inventory management, supply chain management, production planning, distribution and logistics, shipping and receiving, or forecasting.
  • Work experience within the fast-moving consumer goods industry.

Competence Required

You should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven experience in the fast-moving consumer goods industry.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with the capability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong working knowledge of MRP systems (SAP experience strongly preferred).
  • Strong computer skills, especially in Excel with the ability to create spreadsheets and perform advanced formulas and functions.
  • Team player with the ability to collaborate with different departments.
  • Very strong computer skills (Excel, SAP, etc.).
  • Data-driven and hands-on approach when necessary.
  • Understanding of Letter of Credit, shipping, and local port clearing processes.
  • Effective leadership skills to drive projects to completion.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage and lead a team.
