About this Opportunity

  • The primary function of this role is to provide expert-level support of Ericsson the OSS domain (OSS-RC/ENM) and overall system administration.
  • Highly specialized engineer to provide end-to-end automation and customization of tasks according to customer needs, (Analysis, Fixing, and Corrective Maintenance).
  • Escalate & Liaise with Ericsson Support organization for 3rd line support until resolution, including CSR handling.
  • Support the provision of accurate reporting on the network to the customer, supplying technical/statistical data as required.

Responsibilities
What you will do:

  • Technical assistance to customer’s 2nd line/Back Office for all aspects of RAN, comprising of OSS/ENM domain. Providing support to resolve complex network and performance faults.
  • End-to-end technical support for the issues arising in the OSS/ENM domain
  • End-to-end fixing for the issues related to OSS/ENM Platform, Fault Management, User Management, Software/Hardware Management, STS Management, and OSS/ENM applications.
  • Overall system administration of Ericsson OSS-RC/ENM ,ENIQ & OMBS.
  • Ensure the synchronization of Nodes with the ENM on the configuration side, alarms, statistics, and backups
  • Provide end to end automation and customization of tasks according to customer needs (FMX rules, scripts and scheduled reports)
  • Ensure the availability of NOC applications and tools (customization filters, Network Health Monitor template…).
  • Integration of Radio Network Nodes with ENM using scripts prepared according to client policy such as acceptance, new integration and disintegration.
  • Ensuring that the ENM security is always maintained (create users with specific roles)
  • Solution Management for Customized Business Object – Templates / Reports.
  • Implement system configuration changes as per given procedure
  • Innovate, improve, and automate routine tasks.
  • Working with Engineering and Network rollout to ensure that all technical issues that will affect the operational environment are considered in the design, testing, and trial, and risks are highlighted appropriately. Supporting design and pilot activities.
  • Ensure that sufficient regular audits take place to proactively maintain elements and sufficient documentation exists to be able to audit the network.
  • Closely monitoring the planned works on the deployed RAN on a switch by switch basis, to ensure that network availability is sufficiently maintained taking the necessary corrective action where necessary.
  • Effectively call out & liaise with Vendor support until fault resolution.

Requirements
The skills you bring:

  • Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of operational support experience of RNC/EnodeB platforms, with in depth understanding of the platform and performance fixing.
  • Able to demonstrate an in-depth working technical knowledge the OSS domain (OSS-RC/ENM) and overall system administration.
  • Good knowledge of Ericsson OSS-RC/ENM, ENIQ, OMBS and Business Objects.
  • Strong knowledge in Linux/Unix systems with shell scripting and Python
  • Database Administration – Sybase, Sybase IQ, PostgreSQL, Neo4j
  • ENM applications i.e. CLI PMIC NHM NHA OPS WINFIOL
  • OSS applications i.e. C.N.A., OPS, CHA, ARNE, RNO, SMO, BSM, and Element Manager.
  • Should have good knowledge & understanding of GSM /WCDMA/LTE.
  • Excellent understanding of NE KPI’s and various Statistics and their formulae- should be able to handle them manually if needed.
  • Should actively give to improvements and changes.
  • Experience in providing support on an On-Call or shift environment.
  • Willingness to take ownership, lead and drive activities end-to-end.
  • Analytical approach to problems.
  • Good communications and customer-facing skills.

What you will do

  • Knowledge of Linux operating system commands, Cloud infrastructure OpenStack, Cloud native technologies (Kubernetes)
  • Perform maintenance, daily health checks, and solving of all packet core and Enterprise data network service nodes (MME, MPG, PCRF, DNS).
  • Knowledge of 5G Telco Cloud Infrastructure (NFVI, Edge)
  • Experience working on any of the Packet core network elements such as PGW, PCRF, MME, SGW, DNS, AAA, HLR/HSS, etc with vast use of protocol analyzers and solving tools such as Wireshark.
  • Knowledge of servers HW/SW and their characteristics in Service networks area
  • Maintain End-to-end internal Data security on the Packet Core / Enterprise Data Network.
  • Continual Constructive criticism of existing infrastructure with visible plans for improvement.
  • Ensure Key work is met: MTTR, Availability
  • Good understanding of Cloud technologies
  • Understanding of IP routing protocols and MPLS will be a plus
  • Automation experience through scripting knowledge will be a plus (bash, perl)
  • A background working with system architecture components, such as networking and software, is recommended.
  • Experience with Ericsson NFVI/CEE/SDI solution is a strong plus.
  • Working experience with other vendor’s NFV solution is needed is also a plus.
  • Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems, scripting languages like Python, and cloud provider ecosystem.
  • Excellent attention to detail, as they must constantly monitor systems to ensure there are no external threats.
  • Working experience with configuration management.
  • Working experience with monitoring and notification systems.
  • Understanding of PowerShell, Cloud CLI, shell, Python, Bash.
  • Vulnerability and patch management.
  • Knowledge about ITIL an IT service management.

The skills you bring:

  • BSc / HND within Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, or equivalent.
  • Domain experience: Cloud, NFVI, Kubernetes
  • Experience in Cloud, NFVI, K8, VMWare, and AWS is required.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Certification in a red hat, Linux, AWS, Azure, CCNA, CCNP
  • Certification in ETCP Cloud
  • Good understanding of Ericsson NFVI Cloud .
  • Strong understanding of general Packet Core solutions for 2G, 3G and LTE
  • Knowledge of Packet Core Nodes like SGSN-MME, GGSN, PCRF, SGW/PGW
  • Understanding of dimensioning guidelines for Packet Core Nodes
  • GPRS, WCDMA, LTE Media and Signaling Interfaces (including 3GPP and non-3GPP)
  • Strong knowledge of wireless technologies (call flow), related protocols and telecommunication standards like 3GPP
  • Strong knowledge of Linux scripting.
