Your Mission
- In Glovo, we want to change the way consumers buy groceries, and we believe that if we want to revolutionize the industry, we need to deliver a WOW experience to our clients.
- To reach this WOW effect you will be managing and coordinating one of our darkstores focusing on safety, quality, customer experience, productivity, and fun. On a daily basis, you can expect to:
- Ensure a safe work environment for all of your team
- Review the work forecasts and determine productivity requirements to produce during the day to meet the overall building objectives.
- Proactively identify and lead process improvement initiatives
- Balance labor, ensuring that you are operating a balanced and efficient Micro Fulfillment Center while meeting all production goals
- Embrace a start-up mentality and emphasize Glovos’ Core Values
- Control inventory levels and make orders accordingly
The Journey
- Responsible for at least one Micro Fulfillment Center.
- You are responsible for ensuring that you have properly trained people and that their needs are addressed so they can focus on their jobs.
- Motivating, coaching, reporting, and providing feedback on pickers’ performance continuously.
- Coordinate physical and virtual workflows, or flow of orders and materials to ensure products are dispatched on time.
- Allocate labor, lead meetings, direct and assign job duties for pickers.
- Perform in-depth problem-solving in all areas to ensure successful and continuous operations.
- Report and escalate systemic issues to management as necessary and in a timely manner
- Review and update Standard Operating Procedures according to Glovo best practices
- Fully understand processes and daily goals, and make recommendations to improve performance
- Identify, address, and resolve safety hazards within the Micro Fulfillment Center.
- Perform administrative duties, and additional functions, as needed and determined by management
- Work closely with other teams (HR, Category Management, Finance, Facility contractors, Safety Manager, LiveOps…) to create and implement initiatives.
Requirements
What you will bring to the ride:
- 1-2 years of relevant experience as a shift leader in retail
- Good communicator and motivator
- Problem-solving skill
- Good logical reasoning
- People management skills (team of 5-10)
- Prioritization and execution excellence
- Working knowledge of Six Sigma tools and Lean techniques is preferrable.

Job Title: Darkstore Operations Area Manager

Your Mission
- Q-Commerce is the second biggest category inside Glovo and we are currently building a strong Local team in order to re-invent how consumers buy their groceries and any other product in their city making it more convenient and easy than ever before.
- As MFC Area Operations Manager in our Dark Stores Glovo Express, you will be responsible for delivering a best-in-class user experience for our customers and leading the implementation of the right assortment, categorization, content, pricing, and promotion strategies.
The Journey
- Launch groceries retail stores in your city from scratch
- Manage, control and direct Groceries retail stores and continuously improve i) functionality ii) service level in order to achieve our Customer Experience goals while being obsessive about iii) growth
- Manage staffing plans, schedules, quality initiatives, process change initiatives, and other initiatives necessary to enable the Operations plans.
- Manage a team of Supervisors with responsibility for each shift within a very fast-paced/ time-critical and demanding environment.
- Set the requirements and expectations for Retail store Managers, Supervisors and Pickers.
- Measure performance through metrics, providing feedback, and holding Retail store Managers and supervisors accountable for their performance and the performance of their teams.
- Be proactive and ensure that best practices are shared across all Retail Stores and shifts.
- Work closely with other teams (HR, Category Management, Finance, Facility contractors, Safety Manager, LiveOps…) to create and implement initiatives that will deliver growth of the retail stores
- Supervise the maintenance of the working environment ensuring health and safety standards across your stores.
- Achieve stock accuracy targets.
- Continuously measure and evaluate the departmental goals and all work processes, available daily labor and daily production goals.
- Improve quality and eliminate errors, reducing business costs.
- Manage and report main KPIs on a weekly basis.
- Perform administrative duties, and additional functions, as needed and determined by management
- All while delivering positive P&L results
What you will bring to the ride
- An impressive track record in a high-volume, fast-paced grocery chain, distribution or logistics environment
- 3 – 5 years of experience in retail, managing multidisciplinary teams
- Fluency in local language and English
- Proficiency with SQL
- Working knowledge of Six Sigma tools and Lean techniques is preferred
