Key Responsibilities
Clinical Training & Supervision:

• Prepare student nurses and midwives for hands-on clinical training in the demonstration room and hospital settings.

• Provide constructive feedback and mentorship to enhance students’ clinical competence and confidence.

Regulatory & Professional Compliance:

• Ensure adherence to Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) regulations, hospital policies, and accreditation requirements.
• Promote the use of evidence-based clinical practices, infection prevention and control (IPC), and patient safety protocols.
• Act as a liaison between the college, clinical facilities, and healthcare professionals to ensure a seamless learning experience for students.

Entrepreneurship & Skill Development:

Essential Qualifications & Skills

• Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Registered Midwife (RM) with a valid practicing license from NMCN.

Job Description

• This role is responsible for handling all diagnostic level x-ray, imaging equipment’s and its associated instrumentation in the production of medical images of the human body and in the performance of radiologic procedures such as using radiation in the form of x-rays, magnetic resonance imaging and ultrasound to assess, diagnose and treat patients for a variety of injuries and disease.

Responsibilities
Radiology Procedures:

• Responsible for the proper positioning of patients into the beam of the radiation source andadjusting the proper exposure techniques for the optimum film resolution with the leastradiation exposure to the patient in line with the ALAKA principles to get the most accurateimages.
• Responsible for placing proper immobilization devices and protective shielding on patients.
• Responsible for the calculation of the length and time of exposure for the diagnosis ortreatment of the affected area.
• Produce high quality diagnostic images using the appropriate medical imaging modalityand distinguish acceptable radiographs for the radiologist to interpret and assess.
• To perform a wide range of specialized radiographic procedures such as ultrasound,computed tomography and MRI procedures across a variety of complex clinicalpresentations and pathologies according to required standard.
• Perform other duties as assigned to you by senior leadership.

Maintenance Duties:

• Report equipment malfunctions to the head of imaging and radiography department.
• Ensure proper maintenance of all equipment’s by disinfecting and wiping all equipment’s afteruse.
• Clearly label, or remove from circulation, any faulty equipment to mitigate the risk of its continued use.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (B. Sc) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Imaging Science / Radiology or any related Science Degree.
