Job Title: Accountant

Job Summary

• The Accountant will oversee all financial operations of the makeup and beauty store, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, proper inventory costing, timely financial reporting, and compliance with internal controls. The role is critical in monitoring cash flow, tracking sales performance, and supporting management in making informed business decisions.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting:

• Maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly financial records.
• Prepare financial statements, sales reports, budget reports, and cash flow statements.
• Reconcile bank statements, POS payments, mobile money transactions, and petty cash.
• Generate monthly profit and loss reports and provide insights on store performance.

Inventory & Cost Accounting:

• Track inventory movement (purchases, transfers, write-offs, shrinkage).
• Work with store manager and procurement team to ensure accurate inventory valuation.
• Conduct periodic stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Record landed costs, product costs, and margins for all beauty and makeup items.

Accounts Payable & Receivable:

• Process supplier invoices and ensure timely payment.
• Monitor customer credit accounts (if applicable).
• Track outstanding balances and follow up on payments.
• Prepare vendor reconciliation reports and maintain supplier relationships.

Sales & POS Reconciliation:

• Reconcile daily sales from POS, online orders, social media orders, and delivery partners.
• Verify discounts, refunds, and promotions applied by the sales team.
• Ensure alignment between sales records, inventory movement, and financial books.

Budgeting & Expense Control:

• Assist in preparing annual and monthly budgets.
• Monitor operating expenses and flag unusual or excessive spending.
• Provide management with cost-saving recommendations.

Compliance & Audit Support:

• Ensure compliance with tax regulations (VAT, PAYE, WHT, etc.).
• Prepare and file statutory returns as required.
• Support internal and external audits and maintain proper documentation.

Systems & Process Management:

• Use accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Zoho Books).
• Maintain proper documentation of financial policies and processes.
• Ensure internal controls over cash, assets, and stock are adhered to.

Salary
N200,000 – N220,000 per month.

Content Creation & Social Media Management

• Create high-quality beauty content (photos, videos, reels, product swatches, tutorials, reviews).
• Manage social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter).
• Develop visually appealing graphics for campaigns, promotions, and product highlights.
• Write engaging captions, product descriptions, and beauty-related blog posts.
• Schedule posts and maintain an active, on-brand online presence.

Digital Marketing & Campaign Execution:

• Develop and implement digital marketing strategies to drive traffic and sales.
• Run paid ads on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Google.
• Collaborate with influencers, makeup artists, and beauty content creators.
• Manage seasonal promotions, product launch campaigns, and discount strategies.

Community Engagement & Customer Interaction:

• Respond to comments, DMs, and WhatsApp inquiries professionally and timely.
• Build and nurture an online beauty community.
• Engage beauty enthusiasts with polls, Q&A sessions, tutorials, and interactive content.

Analytics & Performance Tracking:

• Monitor and report on social media metrics, follower growth, engagement, and conversions.
• Track campaign ROI and provide insights for optimization.
• Study beauty trends and competitor activities to adjust strategy.

Product & Brand Management:

• Understand brand products, ingredients, and beauty benefits for accurate content creation.
• Assist in updating product listings on the website or e-commerce platforms.
• Maintain consistent brand voice and visual identity across all digital channels.

Collaboration & Support:

• Work with the sales, makeup artists, and inventory team to promote best-selling items.
• Provide creative direction for photoshoots, product displays, and in-store promotions.
• Support store events, masterclasses, and live sales sessions.
