Job Title: Gas Insight Analyst

Location: Nigeria
Job Type: Full Time

Job Summary

  • We’re looking for a data-driven Gas Insight Analyst to provide actionable intelligence for NoemDek’s gas operations and trading activities.
  • You’ll analyze markets, forecast trends, and deliver insights that support business decisions across operations and trading teams.
  • This is a chance to shape strategies, improve performance, and contribute to the growth of West Africa’s energy market. Location is Abuja.

Job Description
Market Analysis:

  • Monitor and analyze gas market trends and pricing
  • Develop forecasts and predictive models
  • Provide insights to support trading and operational decisions
  • Track competitor activities and market shifts
  • Identify risks and opportunities in supply and demand

Reporting & Collaboration:

  • Communicate findings to trading, operations, and leadership teams
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and visualizations
  • Collaborate across teams to implement data-driven decisions
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency across reporting tools
  • Support weekly and monthly performance reviews

Process Improvement & Learning:

  • Recommend improvements to analytics and reporting processes
  • Stay up to date with market developments and regulatory changes
  • Support strategic planning with analytical insights
  • Automate routine analysis to improve efficiency
  • Enhance data collection and validation methods

Administrative & Strategic Support:

  • Provide administrative support to the Gas Insight project, including documentation, meeting coordination, and report compilation.
  • Act as a Chief of Staff-type resource, ensuring alignment between strategic priorities, project execution, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Support management with insights, research, and recommendations for decision-making.
  • Coordinate stakeholder updates and follow-ups • Maintain organized project documentation and timelines.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Energy Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in business analysis, project coordination, or stakeholder management, preferably in the energy or gas sector.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, confident with senior stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization/reporting tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple moving parts and deliver within timelines.

  • Experience in the supply chain and oil & gas industry.
  • Strong experience managing solar project lifecycles, from development to deployment.
  • Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams across multiple project sites.
  • Experience with business development, operations, logistics, and financial management.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, IoT platforms, or energy monitoring tools is an advantage.

  • Manage and optimise the company’s gas portfolio (sourcing, nominations, offtakes, swaps, balancing)
  • Originate and execute gas trades (spot, short-term, medium- and long-term) across domestic and regional markets.
  • Monitor daily/weekly/monthly supply positions and exposure; ensure nominations and flows are accurate and timely.
  • Develop trading strategies that balance margin optimisation with supply security and counterparty risk limits.

Commercial Strategy & Business Development:

  • Develop and own the commercial strategy for gas sales, marketing and new business opportunities.
  • Prepare and present commercial proposals, bids, and pricing offers; build compelling commercial cases and financial models.
  • Run commercial due diligence for new supply contracts and joint ventures.
  • Identify and negotiate new customer and supplier partnerships

Analysis & Risk Management:

  • Evaluate trading risks and opportunities
  • Provide market insights to support business strategy
  • Collaborate with finance and operations to optimize trading performance
  • Track contract performance and recommend risk-mitigation actions

Operations & Logistics Coordination:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical/Process Engineering, Energy Management, Finance or related field. Graduate degree (MBA, MSc in Energy Economics or similar) preferred.
  • 5 years of progressive experience in gas trading, gas marketing, commercial management or portfolio management in the energy sector.
  • Strong financial modelling skills and experience building commercial valuation/pricing models.
  • Experience with nominations, metering / measurement protocols and coordinating with pipeline operators.
  • Familiarity with gas trading tools, CRM/billing systems, and MS Excel (advanced), and trading/analytics platforms.
