With operations across six core countries in Africa, we make farmers more prosperous by providing quality farm supplies on credit, delivered within walking distance of farmers’ homes, and agricultural training to improve harvests. Job Title: Nigeria Deputy Country Director (Systems)

Location: Nigeria

About the Role

• After five years of operation, the Nigeria program serves 100K+ farmers and by 2030, we hope to support more than 1M farmers through our core agricultural package, tree program, rural retail and farmer-focused solutions.
• You are someone who is excited to combine a “zoomed out” leadership and system-building skillet with a “zoomed in” mindset towards efficiency. You enjoy seeing work in action, and are ready to get your boots muddy.
• This is a senior leadership role, combined with operational oversight
• You will Identify opportunities for program improvement and provide constructive feedback on the full organization. In this way you will push the entire team, including the CD, to dream bigger, perform better and maximize our Social Return on Investment (“SROI”).
• You will report to the Country Director and work with them on the program priority projects

Responsibilities

• Co-lead the country program with the Country Director

Job Title: Senior Software Engineer ( C# – Integrations)

About the Role

• As a Senior Software Engineer specializing in backend integration at One Acre Fund, you will be an important member of our Middleware Engineering Team.
• Your primary focus will craft backend solutions crucial to our field operations, specifically dealing with system integrations in an event-driven manner to ensure seamless data communication across different platforms

Job Title: Nigeria Communications Specialist

Location:  Nigeria with travel across project locations

About the Role

• You will manage communication and visibility strategies that support our Nigeria program. You will build relationships with relevant partners in the public, private and non-profit sectors, including potential donors, to build networks and unlock opportunities for program growth in Nigeria. You will support in driving policy advocacy strategies leading to impact for farmers and de-risking our program.
• This is a full-time job. You will report to the Government Relations and Partnerships lead based in Abuja.

Responsibilities

• Communications Strategy Design & Implementation:
  • You will develop a communications strategy for engaging with partners at different levels.
  • You will organize and coordinate brand building and networking events.
  • Produce communications materials to engage important contacts and keep them informed of our work, including quarterly reports, briefing notes, media engagements and official written correspondence.

Job Title: Nigeria Field Data and Administrative Coordinator

About the Role

• You will report directly to the Field Specialist. You will oversee the field operations data and operations administrations.
• You will help improve our processes through data-driven initiatives through setting up dashboards, analyzing data, forecasting/predictions and managing the administrative complexities of the field operations. You will not manage anyone directly but will collaborate with other teams such as the People team, CDM, Customer Engagement and other program teams.

About the Role

• Our passionate development team manages a range of web and mobile solutions to support our field operations, from registering millions of farmers and their orders, optimizing delivery truck loads and routes, tracking deliveries, collecting mobile payments, and analyzing loan repayments.
• You will work as part of a small, collaborative, and agile team of mobile developers, and will report to our Senior Engineering Manager.

Specific challenges that our mobile solutions have to overcome include:

Job Title: Agroforestry Director

Location: Kigali, Rwanda (flexible within our countries of operation)

About the Role

• Smallholder farm families are at the nexus of several of this century’s defining challenges: extreme poverty, climate change, and biodiversity loss.
• The challenges of subsistence farming are compounded by an volatile climate and declining ecological health.
• As stewards of the land, smallholders can help end the cycle of degradation if they are equipped with the right tools, support, and motivation.
• You will help us address this challenge through agroforestry and Forest Landscape Restoration (FLR). Specifically, you will improve existing programs that currently serve more than 2 million farm families and produce over 70 million seedlings per year.
• You will also have ample opportunity to innovate new approaches to generate positive change for farm families and the environment.
• The Director of Agroforestry will directly supervise a dedicated international agroforestry team, will co-lead embedded agroforestry teams in each country program in collaboration with senior program leaders, and will report to the Impact Director

Job Title: Impact Division Manager / Chief of Staff

Location: Kigali, Rwanda (flexible within our countries of operation depending on work authorization)

About the Role

• The Impact Division supports all One Acre Fund programs to generate more impact, wherever we work. We help the organization keep three core aspects of impact at the forefront of our work:
  • Improve farmer livelihoods and profitability in the short-term
  • Ensure long-term viability through sustainable agricultural practices ( e.g. soil health, crop diversity)
  • Address non-agricultural needs of farming households (e.g. energy, nutrition.).
• The Impact Division comprises several teams including our central Agricultural Research team and Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning team. We also directly lead specific cross-team initiatives like agricultural insurance, payments for ecosystem services, behavioral studies, and nutrition and health.
• The role of the Impact Division Manager is to make the entire team more effective at generating impact. You will report to the Impact Director

Responsibilities
You will improve Impact Division Communication & Coordination:

• Help set and track progress against global and program-specific impact goals
• Manage historical impact knowledge and ensure quality of study results
• Set agendas and facilitate monthly Working Group meetings

You will lead strategic research or projects. Specific projects will depend on your background and interests, organizational priorities, bandwidth of implicated teams, and timing, but might include:

• Innovation Research – Research opportunities for expansion areas or for radically new/improved services
• Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) – refine our CCA strategy, identify areas where we need increased investment or research, and guide progress
• Impact Communication – with our communications team, increase the visibility of and inspiration around our impact work.
• ESG (Environmental and Social Governance)- review our ESG practices, make actionable recommendations for improvement, and support implementation
• Partnerships – Research or develop new partnerships that could unlock greater impact

You will increase the reach of Impact leadership:

• Represent division leadership, internally or externally
• Take on direct management responsibilities from division leadership

Qualifications
Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:

• A University Degree in Agriculture or a related field (e.g. Ecology, Environmental Science). An advanced degree is a bonus.
• Experience in written and verbal communication, across a range of audiences – from non-technically-trained colleagues to external experts.
• Experience building trust and understanding the motivations of different individuals and teams from diverse contexts to bring them together to collaborate.
• Demonstrated research skills and ability to independently conduct study design and analytics.
• Demonstrated ownership and leadership
• Experience keeping projects on a critical path, while managing multiple diverse tasks.
• English required. Swahili, Kinyarwanda, Kirundi, or French preferred.
• Willingness to travel within our countries of operation.

• As soon as possible.
