Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor

Location: Esit Eket, Akwa Ibom

Job Purpose / Objectives

  • To supervise maintenance of rotating and other mechanical equipment safely and efficiently in all Savannah Energy facilities (onshore).
  • To ensure effective maintenance of Company equipment in accordance with the relevant internal technical standards, OEM standards and regulatory requirements, in order that they can be used within their respective nominal operating envelopes.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate the activities of the maintenance team (Mechanic, Electrical, Instrument and Systems).
  • Plan and execute all planned/unplanned maintenance in accordance with company policy, OEM specifications and statutory requirements.
  • Liaise with the maintenance planner, make resources available for all scheduled maintenance activities and ensure they are documented on SAP.
  • Work with operations superintendent in identifying key indicators for any plant turnaround maintenance and ensure resources are available for smooth execution.
  • Examine machines and oversee diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems.
  • Perform or supervise first line maintenance on valves, pumps, vessels, boilers/heaters (direct, indirect, electrical), glycol regeneration system, mechanical refrigeration system, fuel gas system, water hydrant system, pressure regulators, pressure relief valves, etc.
  • Liaise with the Supply Chain Team to ensure timely availability of critical spares.
  • Contribute to the yearly maintenance plan for all the machines belonging to the working perimeter.
  • Observe all company safe work practices and good housekeeping in accordance with the company’s operating philosophy, job methods, code requirements, SOPs and statutory requirements.
  • Conduct periodic tests to ascertain the safety of any mechanical designs and provide advice on difficult and complex plant problems as needed.
  • Make recommendations towards resolving recurring plant problems or failures.
  • Perform skilled repair services of mechanical systems and machinery equipment.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive plan for all tasks related to maintenance activities.
  • Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Line Manager.

Job & Main Specifications
Education/Knowledge:

  • A minimum of HND or B.Eng. in an engineering discipline (Mechanical, Instrumentation, Electrical), with at least eight (8) years’ experience in process plant operations in an oil/gas production and processing facility; three (3) of which should have been in a supervisory role. Possession of any other relevant qualification is an added advantage.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Extensive knowledge of maintenance operations, QHSSE, including application of Permit to Work process, best practices and regulations.
  • Able to demonstrate in-depth understanding of oil/gas process plant facility documentation, including P&ID, Process Flow Diagram, Isometric, Piping drawing, Single Line diagram, HAZID/HAZOP and incident reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail with an aptitude for hands-on problem-solving.
  • Advanced knowledge of maintenance systems, activities, processes and project management systems, quality and technical assurance systems, change management and waiver / query management.
  • Must be able to demonstrate sharp analytical skills for root cause determination in case of failures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven experience in maintaining rotating equipment and mechanical systems (particularly, gas turbines, gas generators and compressors, both centrifugal and reciprocating).
  • Must have demonstrable competence in the use of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (“CMMS”).
  • Proven experience developing, reviewing and integrating maintenance manuals, procedures and roll out programmes.
  • Must be conversant with isolation / de-isolation, Lock-Out Tag-Out system (“LOTO”) in the oil & gas industry and Permit To Work (“PTW”) system.
  • Comprehensive understanding of all the technical maintenance specialties (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and systems).
  • Proficient in MS Office and relevant software.
  • Must possess excellent leadership skills with proven record of leading a team towards high performance.
  • Must be result orientated and be able to promote Savannah’s core values and business principles.

Job Title: Mechanical Lead

Location: Esit Eket, Akwa Ibom

Job Purpose / Objectives

  • To maintain mechanical systems including rotation and static equipment safely and efficiently across all Accugas facilities.
  • Provide technical input on mechanical systems to the engineering team, from conceptual engineering through detailed design to construction, installation, and commissioning phase.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the activities of the mechanical team on a day-to-day basis and report to the maintenance supervisor.
  • Plan and execute all planned / unplanned maintenance activity in accordance with company policies, OEM specifications and statutory requirements.
  • Provide support to the maintenance supervisor in preparation of annual budget for all mechanical spares, accessories, and services.
  • Provide mechanical support to the maintenance team for inter-disciplinary maintenance inspections and interventions.
  • Develop and maintain databases for all mechanical safety critical equipment in the plant and ensure execution of periodic maintenance in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate the activities of third-party contractors during major equipment overhaul, in accordance with approved scope of work and industry best practices.
  • Work with the engineering team and contractors on plant modification and upgrade of mechanical systems and provide field supervision of activities.
  • Assist maintenance supervisor to develop and maintain KPI for all rotating equipment across field locations.
  • Liaise with maintenance planner to identify scheduled maintenance activities and ensure proper documentation.
  • Perform onsite assembly, installation and repair of mechanical systems including boilers / heaters, glycol regeneration system, mechanical refrigeration system, fuel gas system, water hydrant system, pressure regulators, heat exchangers, etc.
  • Provide documented evaluation of equipment performance, availability and reliability.
  • Lead maintenance team on all major planned / unplanned maintenance activities / overhaul, across field locations.
  • Lead mechanical and integrity related operational interventions and support failure and incident investigations as required.
  • Participate in peer reviews, risk assessments and hazard analysis as required.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities to ensure availability of critical spares.
  • Provide expertise and assist with facilities start-up and operations from a mechanical perspective.
  • Observe company safety rules and good housekeeping in accordance with Accugas operating philosophy.
  • Follow plant operating philosophy and guidelines and serve as a team leader for the maintenance team.
  • Maintain a clean work environment in line with established standards of hygiene and housekeeping.
  • Handle duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by Line Manager.

Job & Main Specifications
Qualification:

  • Candidate must possess a minimum of HND or B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited higher institution, with at least seven (7) years’ experience in the Oil and Gas industry; two (2) of which should have been in a supervisory role.

Job Title: Senior Instrumentation and Control Technician

Location: Esit Eket, Akwa Ibom

Job Purpose/Objectives

  • To maintain all the instrumentation and control equipment/devices safely and efficiently in all field locations, including pipeline network and its accessories for continuous plant availability.
  • To satisfy the technical integrity target of the oil/gas processing facility and ensure that all instrumentation and control equipment/devices are operated within the design limit.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Carry out inspections on the plant to ensure that all instruments, analysers, control valves, flow measurement, transmitters, gauges are in good working condition and rectify any defects.
  • Perform skilled work in both instrumentation field devices and electromechanical repairs or electronic circuit repairs.
  • Enforce compliance with group instrument standards and procedures (“SOPs”), as well as those of relevant government regulations and ensure HSE-MS requirement for company and contractor equipment are met.
  • Restore equipment breakdowns and day-to-day instrument routine and non-routine maintenance activities.
  • Calibrate all relevant instruments, analysers, and flow measurement devices, etc. online or during shutdown to ensure a stable and smooth plant operation.
  • Ensure that all alarm and trip systems are tested according to schedule and procedure to ensure safe plant operations.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate instrument field devices, such as transmitters, Daniel Orifice Meters, Ultrasonic meters, Flare meters, Coriolis meters, Turbine meters, Differential meters, Control valves, Fire and Gas detectors, PSV, F&G, Pneumatic and Hydraulic control system, PLC, DCS, SCADA, Moisture analyser, Gas chromatograph, VFD, telecommunications equipment and its accessories etc. in all field locations
  • Provide technical input on instrumentation and controls system to engineering discipline from conceptual engineering to detailed design, construction, installation, and commissioning phase.
  • Ensure that plant integrity is not compromised due to faulty or slow repairs.
  • Optimise maintenance cost, while ensuring that the company’s quality standards are not compromised.
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned by Line Manager.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (“RCA”) of instrumentation and controls equipment/devices with the aim of eliminating recurring problems.
  • Ensure that all hazards associated with activities are identified prior to work execution and with due regards to safety procedures and HSE-MS requirements.
  • Conduct unsafe act or condition audits to quickly identify hazards in the facility, with corrective actions where necessary to re-instate facility integrity.
  • Promote the upgrade of current and old systems according to innovative designs to improve production and plant stability.
  • Ensure all instrumentation and controls equipment/devices are maintained according to schedule and OEM specifications, to prevent unnecessary plant trips and production losses.
  • Investigate trips and equipment failures to ensure maximum plant availability.
  • Execute all tasks and activities required for the workshop HSE-MS audit and certification as planned.
  • Maintain a clean work environment in line with established standards of hygiene and housekeeping.
  • Develop and maintain database for all instrument related safety critical equipment in the process plant and ensure that periodic maintenance is conducted as at when due, in accordance with statutory requirements.

Job & Main Specifications
Education/Knowledge:

  • A minimum of OND, City & Guilds Level 3 in Instrumentation and Controls or Electrical Engineering discipline, with at least five (5) years’ experience in process plant operations in an oil/gas production and processing facility; one (1) of which should be in a similar role.

Skills & Attributes

  • Skilled in installation, repair, and maintenance of all types of Instrument systems/equipment and components.
  • Knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to the Instrument discipline.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office packages.
  • Good time management and communication skills.
  • Must be conversant with PTW and LOTO system.
  • Knowledge of applicable relevant codes, standards, and regulations.

  • Good leadership and mentorship skills.

  • Conversant with Allen Bradley Programmable logic controller (“PLC”), Rockwell View logic, Daniel Ultrasonic flow meters, Gas Chromatograph, etc.
  • Conversant with the use and application of HART Communicator to access field instruments for calibration.
