Sitrid, an acronym for Steps In The Right Direction, is a 21st century based Nursery, Primary and Secondary School which opened a little over 10 years ago. It caters for children between the ages of 3 months – 16 years (Daycare to SS3 ). It is a highly technology based school with dedicated teachers and staff. SIS is located on the South- West of Port Harcourt (50-56 Rumuevorlu Mini Orlu Road off Ada George Way, Port Harcourt) on a beautiful 8 plots of land. It provides an atmosphere conducive for focused learning. It has a spacious athletic field and secured car park that makes the school a gorgeous and efficient educational learning environment. Sitrid International School is owned by Mrs. George-Izunwa and managed by Mrs. Ken- Nkwonta and a Team of professional educators and staff. we believe that every child counts and our pupils must be able to draw from the understanding of concepts and relate same to different domains of their experiences. Our school is a vibrant and dynamic community that values academic excellence, creativity, and child safety. We follow the Cambridge curriculum and strive to provide a nurturing environment that fosters intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and digital literacy.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: ICT Teacher (Primary)

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic ICT Teacher to join our primary school team.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching ICT skills to students across various age groups, incorporating digital literacy, and ensuring a safe online environment.
  • The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable, creative, and passionate about using technology to enhance learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach ICT skills: Deliver engaging and interactive ICT lessons to primary students, following the Cambridge Curriculum.
  • Digital literacy: Foster digital literacy skills in students, including online safety, digital citizenship, and responsible technology use.
  • Child safety and protection: Ensure a safe online environment, adhering to child protection policies and guidelines.
  • Lesson planning: Develop and implement well-structured ICT lesson
  • Assessment and feedback: Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and report on student achievement.
  • Collaboration: Work with colleagues to integrate ICT across the curriculum and promote cross-disciplinary learning.
  • Staying up-to-date: Continuously update knowledge and skills in ICT, incorporating new technologies and teaching methodologies.

Requirements

  • Teaching qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field, with a focus on ICT or Computer Science.
  • ICT expertise: Strong knowledge of computer systems, software, and digital tools.
  • Child safety and protection: Understanding of child protection policies and guidelines, with the ability to ensure a safe online environment.
  • Creativity and adaptability: Ability to design engaging lessons, adapt to different age groups, and incorporate digital skills across the curriculum.
  • Communication skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Continuous learning: Commitment to ongoing professional development, staying updated on ICT trends, and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cambridge ICT certification: Certification in Cambridge ICT or related field.
  • Experience: Previous experience teaching ICT in a primary school setting.
  • Digital pedagogy: Understanding of digital pedagogy and its application in the classroom.

Salary
N85,000 – N90,000 monthly.
