This morning while surfing the Internet, I came across a post credited to you, wherein you alleged that Governor Sim has just one project started and completed to mark his one year in office, albeit mockingly.
The truth is that constitutionally Governor Sim is one year in office but the common reality to Rivers people administratively is that GOVERNOR SIM IS NOT YET ONE YEAR IN OFFICE, BECAUSE WITHIN THIS ONE YEAR, YOUR INLAW CHIEF WIKE WAS STILL ACTING IN THE FULL CAPACITY AS GOVERNOR FROM 29th MAY TO 30th OCTOBER 2023.
Your inlaw Chief Wike, was the one still awarding contracts, choosing contractors and dictating how the Government of Sim should be run. Chief Wike practically ordered the completion of old projects, payment of contractors that he deliberately owed even after commissioning the said projects, before any significant project can be embarked upon by Governor Sim. This is the same control he had that saw Wike include your name as one of the contractors in the Okarki School Construction to the tune of 525Million for your own section alone, that the Government of Sim has paid to the fullest today from scratch.
Is it not obvious that after the 30th of October in the failed impeachment exercise when SIR SIM fully took control of his Government and assumed as Governor of Rivers State for the first time, he has today flagged off meaningful projects that Wike declined assent, because Wike is no longer in the picture to grant such permissions again as the de facto Governor of Rivers State.
It is noteworthy to say that, the biggest project to Rivers people which is enough to celebrate the one year of GOVERNOR SIM, is the liberation of Rivers State and her treasury from the stronghold of your inlaw Chief Wike. Which other project can be bigger that the Divine increase in our IGR from 12Billion Naira to 27Billion Naira.
Which other project can be more than the Promotion of Civil servants in the State and Local Government commission, that a 60,000 Salary earner for the 8years wike held this State by placing embargo on promotion, now earns 180,000 Naira due to double promotion that GOVERNOR SIM approved.
We are no longer in the era of brick and morta govt that Wike used to shortage the State through kickbacks and extortionate inflation of project sum. Today there is a more holistic approach to governance, one that is all encompassing ranging from healthcare, Education, Human Capacity empowerment, Favourable Policies of Government to attract investors, Welfare of civil servants and infrastructure.
No more garrulous and combative approach to governance. No more hostility in the way government relates with the private sector in Rivers State, that today the Rivers State Government in synergy with an investor is carrying out the construction of 20,000 housing units and also the construction of an International Digital Automobile Spareparts Village.
In just few months in office, Governor Sim and the Rivers State Government will be holding the State’s first ever INVESTMENT SUMMIT for the first time in the lasy 8years to hold on the 23rd-25th of May 2023.
Under Sim, business billboards and that of Investors have replaced political praise-singing billboards in our dear State, which is a sign of digital growth.
More meaningful and impactful projects are on the way, one that GOVERNOR SIM will not have to award a road project because his farm or private business is located there.
Least I forget Dear Marshal, attached below is a memo sent to GOVERNOR SIM by HADO CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, demanding payment of money owed them in a project that your inlaw Wike had already commissioned and even boasted of not owing any contractor as Governor. Is this how he was running the Jesus Economy he shouted about, because JESUS CHRIST our saviour, cannot run his heavenly economy through deceit and political rhetorics.
