Job Title: Financial Control Analyst

Location: Nigeria
Job Schedule: Full time

Job Purpose

  • The Financial Control Analyst is responsible for strengthening financial controls, optimizing processes, and ensuring regulatory compliance with relevant statutory law and financial regulations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive internal control framework to safeguard financial assets.
  • Ensure company compliance with relevant statutory law and financial regulations eg, SOX, AML.
  • Conduct periodic internal control assessments and audits, identifying areas of improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Conduct the preparation and distribution of timely, monthly consolidated financial statements and reports.
  • Perform comprehensive analytical reviews of financial statements to gain insights into financial performance of the business and identify key trends and indicators.
  • Be well versed in finance matters whilst handling inquiries, developing action plans to address them.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant financial data for reporting purposes.
  • Assess current financial processes to pinpoint areas for optimization and enhanced efficiency.

Special Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field of study.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Internal control, process and compliance in financial service, FMCG or ecommerce.
  • Excellent knowledge of local GAAP rules, international accounting standards (IFRS, IAS) and regulations is required.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.

  • Analyze and interpret the various product activity by lines of business and channels (lifecycle management tool)
  • Identify and assess business expansion opportunities, including partnerships, collaborations, client acquisition, and market expansion initiatives.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with marketing, product, and other departments to ensure a unified approach to achieving business development and expansion objectives to elevate the company’s growth trajectory.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of our business and external market forces.
  • Evaluate and analyze the performance metrics of strategic initiatives.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and offer strategic recommendations based on performance analysis.

Requirements Special Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or any Commercial-related field. An MBA would be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in Business consulting & Strategy development, business analysis, or related fields within a fast-paced environment. Previous Startup experience is desired.
  • Proven success in developing and executing impactful commercial and business development strategies.
  • Proficiency in market research, financial analysis, and strategic planning.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data and trends.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
