Description
- The Sales Specialist Trainee will undergo structured training and practical experience in banking sales, customer acquisition, relationship management, and financial product promotion.
- The trainee will support the sales team in identifying prospective customers, promoting banking products and services, and achieving assigned business targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in all assigned banking and sales training programmes.
- Learn and understand the bank’s products, services, policies, and sales processes.
- Identify and approach prospective individual and corporate customers.
- Promote banking products such as accounts, loans, cards, digital banking solutions, deposits, and other financial services.
- Support customer acquisition, onboarding, and account activation activities.
- Generate leads and follow up with prospective customers.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with new and existing customers.
- Assist senior sales specialists in achieving assigned sales and revenue targets.
- Conduct market research to identify business opportunities and potential customer segments.
- Maintain accurate records of prospects, customer interactions, and sales activities.
- Ensure all customer documentation is properly completed and submitted.
- Comply with all banking regulations, KYC requirements, and internal policies.
- Handle customer enquiries professionally and escalate complex issues when necessary.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly sales activity reports.
- Carry out other duties assigned by the supervisor or management.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Minimum of HND or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Economics, Banking and Finance, or a related field.
- NYSC completion or exemption certificate may be required where applicable.
- Previous sales or banking experience is an advantage but not compulsory.
- Strong interest in sales, business development, and the financial services industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong negotiation and persuasion abilities.
- Good customer service and relationship management skills.
- Ability to meet targets and work in a performance-driven environment.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
