Job Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist

Location: Asaba, Delta
Employment Type: Full-time

Summary of Roles and Responsibilities

  • Receive urine, blood, or other samples for experimentation and analysis.
  • Prepare standard volumetric solutions or reagents to be combined with specimens.
  • Manage and operate laboratory equipment.
  • Evaluate test results and prepare reports for physicians.
  • Maintain laboratory quality assurance and safety standards.
  • Cross-match blood for transfusion.
  • Guide and supervise technicians.
  • Adhere to the protocols, norms, rules, and regulations to maintain complete medical records.
  • Establish quality assurance programs to monitor and ensure the accuracy of test results.
  • Monitor patient outcomes.
  • Adheres to general hospital standards.
  • Ensure a hygienic and safe working environment in compliance with healthcare procedures

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Candidates must have BMLS qualifications.
  • The candidate must possess a certification as an Associate of the Institute of Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar role
  • Good hand-eye coordination.
  • Good eyesight and clear vision
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to keep information confidential.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure.
  • Sound knowledge of clinical laboratory procedures.
  • Knowledge of the use and operation of laboratory equipment such as microscopes and cell counters.

Job Title: Dialysis Technician

Location: Asaba, Delta
Employment Type: Full-time

The Role

  • Will be responsible for all the technical aspects of daily operations at the centre including maintenance and repair of dialysis and related equipment, water treatments systems, mechanical and electrical installations as well as inventory control.

Responsibilities
The duties of the dialysis technician will include:

  • Assembling the dialysis machine and ensuring its proper performance
  • Monitoring patients undergoing dialysis treatment.
  • Ensuring the usage of the dialysis machine is safe and secure
  • Talking patients through the dialysis process.
  • Monitoring and adjusting patient fluid removal rates as required.
  • working in tandem with nurses and doctors.
  • Ensuring the sterilization of operating equipment before use.
  • Responding to emergency scenarios.
  • Attending to patient needs.
  • Educating patients on health maintenance and care
  • Following care protocols as prescribed by the Consultant Family Physician and Consultant Nephrologist

Requirements

  • Selected individuals should have an OND / HND in a Technical field and appropriate biomedical work experience and will demonstrate the ability to engage in continuing education and meticulous documentation of the daily performance of machines.
  • Basic computer competency will be required, as well as the ability to use electronic technical maintenance and repair manuals and adhere to strict policies and care protocols.
  • The candidate should possess 2-5 years’ experience working in the same role.

Job Title: Pharmacy Technician

Summary of Roles and Responsibilities

  • Preparing new prescriptionand refill requests for patients
  • Dispensing medication to patients per the Doctor’s prescription
  • Processing insurance claims
  • Tracking inventory
  • Assist in stock counting on a routine basis and ensure that expiring drugs are noted.
  • Ensure that minimum stock levels are not exceeded.
  • Keep the pharmacy clean and ensure that dispensing materials are available.
  • Assist in receiving medications from vendors.
  • Assist in compounding in coordination with the pharmacist.
  • Provide consumables to the nurses and doctors when needed.
  • Preparing pharmacy packs under the supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Assist the pharmacist in any other required duties.
  • Conduct group responsibilities accurately and on time.
  • Maintain and update pharmacy checklists regularly.
  • Provide assistance in various functions of the pharmacy.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Candidates must have a Diploma.
  • The candidate must possess a certification as an Associate of the Pharmaceutical Council of Nigeria
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar role
