Scholarship Details
When you submit your admissions application, you will automatically be considered for various merit scholarships. The Presidential Scholarship, however, requires a separate application.
Your eligibility for scholarships is based on your academic achievements indicated in your admission application, rather than your family’s financial need. International students who qualify for scholarships are expected to demonstrate the ability to cover a significant portion of their education costs, including those aspiring to receive the Presidential Scholarship. On average, international students at Clark pay between $25,000 and $45,000 per year.
If you are awarded a merit scholarship, you will receive a notification along with your admissions decision.
Scholarship Requirements
An ideal candidate for the Presidential LEEP Scholarship has a high school record that positions them at the top of Clark University’s applicant pool. They should also demonstrate a strong desire to:
- Pursue a rigorous academic schedule.
- Collaborate with peers and professors.
- Achieve ambitious career and life goals.
- Join a community of scholars committed to global change.
- Tackle complex challenges domestically and internationally.
Scholarship Duration and Reward
Successful candidates will have the resources and opportunities to deeply explore their interests. They will take charge of their education, connect with pioneers in their fields, and develop skills to drive future innovations.
The scholarship covers tuition, room, and board for four years, with renewal contingent on maintaining a strong academic record throughout each undergraduate year.
Method of Application
If you’re interested in the Presidential Scholarship, simply select that option when completing the Common Application (available after August 1). You’ll receive detailed information, including the topics of the two short essays required for the scholarship application. The final essay submission deadline is February 1, applicable to Early Action, Early Decision, and Regular Decision candidates.
Students selected for an interview will be notified in March. The Admissions Committee chooses finalists based on their admission applications and other established criteria. Last year, over 450 scholarship applications were reviewed from the U.S. and around the world, leading to 15 finalists being invited for interviews. Five of those finalists were awarded the scholarship and joined the incoming class. Typically, one or two international students receive this award annually.
