1). Investment & Growth Associate – ARM Labs Lagos Techstars Accelerator

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

Role Summary:

  • The ARM Labs Lagos Techstars Accelerator is a collaborative effort between Techstars, the world’s most active pre-seed investor offering access to capital, programming, and connections for early-stage entrepreneurs, and ARM Labs, an innovation program based in Lagos. We are seeking a Lagos-based Investment & Growth Associate for our 2023 program.
  • As an Associate, you will play a vital role in nurturing the next wave of startups, helping them transition from early-stage ventures to fully-fledged, venture-backed companies. Your network will flourish, connecting you with entrepreneurs, investors, and mentors. You’ll have the privilege of participating in mentor meetings, gaining an intimate understanding of the city’s top entrepreneurs and investors. Additionally, you will be granted full access to Techstars events, allowing you to engage with founders, investors, and the local community.
  • This is your chance to gain invaluable experience, expand your network in ways you’ve never imagined, and gain exposure to some of the most promising companies and teams in the country. Historically, many Associates end up working for one of the program’s teams or individuals they met during the accelerator. Some even go on to build their own companies.

Role Responsibilities:

As an Associate, your responsibilities will include working closely with startups to:

  • Develop financial models.
  • Conduct research.
  • Create and implement plans to drive lead generation and sales opportunities.

Commitment:

This is a contract role that requires full-time presence at our office in Victoria Island, Lagos. The contract will commence in mid-November 2023 and conclude on February 23, 2024.

 

 

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Computer Science, or Law.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a dynamic environment, with relevant professional expertise (e.g., management consulting, private equity/venture capital, financial modeling, growth hacking, lead generation, etc.).
  • Demonstrated interest in technology, startups, entrepreneurship, venture capital, and related fields.
  • Problem-solving skills and effective communication abilities.
  • Strong prioritization, multitasking, and deadline management capabilities.
  • A high degree of drive, energy, accountability, and initiative.
  • Understanding of Techstars’ vision, direction, and alignment with the organization’s objectives.
  • Alignment with Techstars’ culture, characterized by #givefirst, entrepreneurial inclination, a commitment to high quality, and a network-centric approach.
  • Availability for full-time, in-person work during a temporary position lasting 4 months, starting in mid-November.

2). Operations Associate – ARM Labs Lagos Techstars Accelerator

Role Summary:

  • The ARM Labs Lagos Techstars Accelerator is a collaboration between Techstars, the world’s most active pre-seed investor offering access to capital, programming, and connections for early-stage entrepreneurs, and ARM Labs, a Lagos-based innovation program. We are in search of a Lagos-based Operations Associate for our 2023 program.
  • As an Associate, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the next exceptional cohort of startups, assisting them in their journey from early-stage ventures to fully-fledged, venture-backed companies. Your network is about to experience substantial growth, connecting you with a diverse range of individuals, from entrepreneurs and investors to mentors. You’ll have the privilege of participating in mentor meetings, giving you an up-close and personal view of the city’s most outstanding entrepreneurs and investors. Furthermore, you will gain full access to Techstars events, allowing you to engage with founders, investors, and the local community.
  • This is your opportunity to acquire invaluable experience, expand your network beyond your wildest expectations, and gain exposure to some of the most promising emerging companies and teams in the country. Historically, most Associates end up being employed by one of the program’s teams or by individuals they met during the accelerator program. Many also go on to establish their own companies.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Your responsibilities will encompass assisting with the day-to-day operations of the Techstars program and supporting the program team in meeting the needs of the program and its cohort. Examples of responsibilities include identifying requirements and preparing for upcoming events, organizing meetings, coordinating groups, managing logistics for visits by special guest mentors, taking meeting notes, and arranging office space for events. You will report to the Program Manager.

Commitment:

  • This is a contract role that requires full-time commitment at our office in Victoria Island, Lagos. The contract will commence on November 3rd, 2023, and conclude on March 8th, 2024.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years of post-university experience in a dynamic environment, with relevant professional experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication abilities.
  • The capacity to prioritize tasks, handle multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
  • A high level of drive, energy, accountability, and initiative.
  • An understanding of Techstars’ vision, direction, and commitment to overall organizational objectives.
  • Alignment with Techstars’ culture, characterized by a #givefirst mentality, entrepreneurial inclination, a focus on high quality, and a network-centric approach.
  • Availability for full-time, in-person work during a temporary position lasting 4 months, starting on November 3rd.
