Financial Benefits:
Successful candidates in the Schmidt Science Fellows program will receive a stipend of $100,000 and will be supported to undertake a full-time, postdoctoral study for at least one year in a world-leading laboratory, focusing on a field different from their existing area of expertise. Furthermore, fellows will participate in five-week residential meetings held at four different locations around the world during their fellowship year, providing bespoke training to help them become the next generation of science leaders.

Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the University of British Columbia Fellowships 2024 in Canada, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Canadian, Permanent Resident, or International candidate.
- Hold a graduate degree in Computing, Engineering, Natural Sciences (Earth Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, Astronomy, Biology including Neurobiology).
- Have completed a Ph.D. or expect to complete it between 1st June 2023 and 30th July 2024 (Ph.D. must be obtained from UBC).
- Be available for the entire period from July 2024 to September 2025, including the Global Meeting.

The selection of fellows will be based on the following criteria:

Selection Procedure:
The Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies will review nominations from departments and nominate up to nine students for the international competition.
